I have been doing rent a room for 10years now. About 2 years after I started I was talking to my broker and mentioned it in passing. He immediately said I was not covered for that under my house insurance, he made enquiries and my current insurer at the time would not add it to my policy but he found me one that did, and the move worked out cheaper..talk to your broker!
