Mad tactics by Monaghan given how open the Cavan defence were in the first half.

Fair play to Cavan for battling back in the 2nd half.

Ridiculous from Monaghan. only scored 2 points in the second half and nothing for the last 25 minutes of it.

Good comeback but Monaghan should never have sat back and let it happen.

Is there penalties if nobody wins it in ET?

    Two very very average teams
How Monaghan are constantly talked up I'll never know

Banty should be ran out of Monaghan if they lose this after that second half.
All they needed to do was keep the scoreboard ticking over which didn't seem like it would be a problem given how they ran through that Cavan defence in first half.

Fair play to Cavan, battled hard and kicked some lovely scores.

Been in Division 1 since 2015 which is not to be sniffed at.

All the momentum with Cavan now. Monaghan in trouble.

    What was the red for?

Poor second half. Monaghan content to just play it around instead of try to get the few scores that would close the game out.
Cavan back in it a bit now with a quick brace of points, but have been really poor apart from the first 10 minutes.

Hopefully a lively finish to make up for a desperate second half so far

    Ya. I'll take that alright.
    Some finish.

    Well done Cavan.

That turned into a fairly entertaining one after all. Some kick.

Stunning. The equalising and winning scores were incredible. In normal time and extra time.

Peak Banty if he tried to close out the game with half an hour to go.

    Well done Cavan.

Monaghan did their best not to win that game. Trying to sit on a 7 point HT lead, that crap doesn't work in gaelic football, McManus' ego getting the better of him not letting Beggan take that free to win it in normal time, the red, the stupid and unecessary black card in ET. Then that foul at the end. Awful game management from Monaghan.

Well played Cavan but Monaghan will be kicking themselves. Stupid tactics. Would fancy tomorrow's winner to advance from Ulster now. Monaghan really should have come through that side of the draw.

Brilliant entertainment. What a start to the championship. May it continue!

Great score to win it. Fair play Cavan beating their arch rival.

Some drama in Clones. Great comeback win and deserved win for Cavan, showed great character.

Ultra negative football, 7 points ahead against a division 3 team with a half of football to play and still going out. Just makes you all warm and fuzzy inside to see them gone.

Wouldn't be getting too caught up on league divisions when it comes to these two counties. Both were in Div 1 last year and Cavan won the championship encounter by a bit to spare let's not forget.

Cora Staunton is a lot better player than a Co commentator.
Can't stop talking even when nothing needs to be said, sometimes less is more Cora.

An entire stand to put the camera in and instead they put it out in the pissing rain and wind in Ballybofey.

Clean the bloody camera every now and then for Gods sake. Going to be a long hour or so.

Camera matches in with the empty ground for that authentic McKenna Cup feel.

With the massive budget RTE have you'd think they could afford someone to dry the camera lens every 10 minutes or so.
