    Hello,

Could anyone please recommend a good primer, for a modern non-historian reader, of how Brehon Law actually worked? Ideally online, but something trustworthy enough, and more detailed than Wikipedia. Thanks!

    Fergus Kelly
of the DIAS's A Guide to Early Irish Law is the standard academic text on it. It's an absolutely superb read, as is his Early Irish Farming. He recreates the Gaelic world supremely. Google his name and An Seanchas ("Brehon laws") and some online article will probably come up.

Kelly's work is extremely detailed and voluminous but also incredibly accessible. Highly recommended.

Thanks a lot! The book is pretty much what I wanted, given that it probably is available in libraries.
