    Howdy peeps! I'm baaaaaaackkkkk:D

Another edition of Peehs for y'all. Now I know some of you (well me anyways) missed the Olympics a lot this year, so I thought it would be a great topic for a Peehs game...

    What is Peehs?

If you've ever watched the show 'Pointless' then this is exactly that. You are trying to give me the least popular answer.

Google is not permitted for this game

Without further adieu, the questions, some of which I have put the number of correct answers possible beside:

    1. Name a sport contested at the 1896 Summer Olympic Games in Athens (9 correct answers, all of which are still Summer Olympic sports)
    2. Name a gold medal winner in the 100 metres mens category. (25 correct answers)
    3. Name a weight class in men’s Olympic boxing competition.
    4. Name a country that has won an Olympic Gold medal in long distance running. (1500, 5000 or 10000 metres)
    5. Name an Irish Olympian (they do not have to have won a medal)
    6. Name a country that currently has a representative on the International Olympic Committee Executive Board (16 correct answers)
    7. Name a U.S. or Canadian city that has hosted an Olympic Games (9 correct answers)
    8. Name a European city that has hosted a Summer Olympic Games (12 correct answers)
    9. Name an athlete who has won at least 8 gold medals across one or more Olympic Games (14 correct answers)
    10. Name a country (excluding the Russian Empire and the Independent Olympic Athletes) that has won exactly one gold medal in Olympic competition (21 correct answers)
    11. Name a country that has won an Olympic gold medal in the Shot Put or Javelin events (13 correct answers)
    12. Name a country that has won a gold medal for the Mens OR Womens Football Event at the Olympics (22 correct answers)

I will keep sign ups open until an hour before the reveal. Reveal will take place on Sunday 9th August, 2020.

I'm in, but I've never followed the Olympics so pure guesswork and I'm merely chancing my arm...

    I'm in

I love the Olympics so thought I'd be alright, then I read the questions :o
One wild guess and a good few half-educated guesses, fingers crossed!

Had a look at the first few sets of answers coming in.

I'm going to clarify this question:

    1. Name a sport contested at the 1896 Summer Olympic Games in Athens (9 correct answers, all of which are still Summer Olympic sports)

I've received some answers that are disciplines/events under a wider umbrella of the sport.

Example: Kayaking would not be a correct answer - Sailing is classed as the sport.

NB: Sailing is not one of the 9 sports (there's a freebie)

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to the Olympics but still needed to take a flyer on a couple of the answers. Some great questions Necro.

Will have a bash at this today.
You'd miss the sheep and peehs all the same with all of the "best x" knockout tournies that have gone on recently.

Enlisted help from my daughter who is an Olympic addict and could give me multiple answers for most questions. I actually had to ask her to shut up for people with 8 golds or more.

We have a couple of dedicated tournament specialists here at Forum Games HQ so I have been redeployed to reinvigorate the Sheep/Peehs market :D

I am sure people used Google. I had my daughter and didn't need it.

I'll withdraw if it causes a diplomatic incident....:)

I think LeVar was just joking with you ;)
We'll say no more about it... unless you win, when we'll all say you cheated and should be disqualified :p

I was only joking of course.

Really hope no one uses Google in these though. Defeats the purpose of the game.

A few educated guesses but I don't expect that I will have many wrong answers.
Now, whether they will be PEEHS or SHEEP is a whole different matter :D:pac:

I used Google to check the spelling of one of my answers, but I knew the answer already. Stupid foreigners with their hard to spell names. :D

I should hope you know the answers what with you being from the birthplace of the Olympics!

Did you have to learn Olympic history in school?

Well, it's been 30 years since I finished school :D so only vague recollections of it
As part of the history courses there were references to the Olympic games in ancient Greek. I don't recall anything related to the modern Olympics.

For many years the only real interest was the lighting of the Olympic flame in the Temple of Hera in Olympia. Greece didn't have a great presence in the Olympic Games so there was never a big interest for the event itself.
This changed in the nineties when we started winning the odd medal and in the build up of 2004, were everyone became an Olympic Games fan, but the interest went down after that.

Plus as I'm getting older I find it more difficult to remember such trivia. I got lucky with one question because in the town I live in we have a statue of an Irish Olympian so knew that and this could actually be the only peehs I get.
For some others (especially the ones with the medals) I only had 1 or 2 very obvious answers and went with them to avoid getting penalty points. :D

Less your admin fee of 999,999 so send back a euro. But postage is over a euro so necro owes you money now.

I love the Olympics. Watched the entire opening ceremony from London 2012 last Friday night.

BBC and Eurosport have been doing reruns of the sports too.

The Irish Olympian - do they have to run under the tricolour or could they have represented another country?
