What do folks think of the idea of having your tattoo designed online and bringing it to a local artist to have it done?

I was in a few of the shops in town, and I am not that keen on the idea that I discuss a design but dont get to see the final design until the day I have it done.

If I am going to be wearing it for the rest of my life I would want to look at it a good bit before I have it put on me.

I would be totally fine with paying for the work done as a portion of the overall cost just paid up front.

So what do folks think, is there someone good in dublin who would
    • a do a tattoo that I had designed elsewhere
    • b design one for me for a fee and let me take it away
    • c anyone got a good site ?

A and B, yes, most likely. That's why you pay a deposit up front. Have a chat with a tattoo artist whose work you like, and explain to them what you want to do, most should be fine with that.

There will be some that won't, but only because they don't want to have to go through the work of designing the tattoo for you, only for you to take it to someone else.
