Is that the music shop pub? I've never been in there (to my shame) but it looks like a great little place. And now that you tell me I can haz cigar too it's going to be a port of call very soon.

It's a great spot for cigar & pipe smoking, Go for the Alvaro's yes they're spanish but very good!
Also it must mentioned that (in very un-scientific terms - being my taste) It is one of the best pints of Guinness in the country!

Anyone who likes the black stuff, pull up a seat near the fire, and enjoy!

    Regards,

+1 on Harry Byrnes. I shall be in there tomorrow afternoon enjoying a cigar and a pint while watching the rugby.
The Sycamore Club Rooftop bar is wonderful but can get very loud and crowded depending on the night and the DJ and if you can get past the doormen.
The Morgan Hotel is popular with cigar smokers and I believe there is a cigar meeting there next Wednesday (17th Feb).
Nice area in No.3 Fade Street, a covered courtyard with plenty of seating.

    Update:
I was in No.3 on Saturday night. Oh Man what a nightmare. It's impossible to enjoy a smoke the place is so crowded. Avoid at the weekends otherwise still a nice spot.

Also just found out that the smoking area in Harry Byrnes was designed by a French architect. It won him a national award. Noice! I must get a few photos to post up.

Either Diceys or Purty Kitchen/Marquee in Temple bar

On the roof but it's covered, bar, heaters, seats, music, the whole shebang.

    I like it :)

Purty Kitchen in temple bar has a great smoking area on the rooftop from what I remember. Bar, seats, heated. From what I remember it's entirely covered on 4 sides and with a roof with a small gap in the middle, covered by some form of tarpaulin so there's no chance of getting wet. The night I was there though a VIP wristband was required so I'm not sure when it's accesible to the general crowd.

Details may be a bit eery, I was bolloxed at the time.

Edit: Didn't realize it was covered 2 post above me.

The Med is excellent, Scraggs is pretty good too. I was in Ewings last week and they have a fantastic new smoking area, which even has a pool table:D
All Carlow town by the way!

Bernard Shaw in Dublin, like being in a room, pool table in centre, seating all around, graffiti art on walls. Comfortable, good atmosphere.
