Light Sleet Shower In South Dublin

Fairly decent band of precip moving south south east across north leinster at the moment. The front line of it is currently in a line from Strokestown in Longford to just north of Drogheda and beyond into the Irish Sea. It appears to be holding itself together fairly well although I will expect it to start disintegrating shortly. Still looks quite heavy on netweather radar with plenty of oranges and even reds in it. not sure what is falling from it but netweather shows it as being snow away from the immediate coast and sleet on the coast and west of around Granard....although I would take this as a pinch of salt!!!

Ballyhaise is reporting heavy rain and 2c as of 02:00 which would be that band of heavy precip moving through. Very much borderline snow there!!! It's at a little under 100m altitude and as it is an automatic station, I would say it was highly likely to have been sleet or wet snow rather than just rain.

Nothing at all here in Southeast Dublin!

When the showers are from the west or northwest that last 10 miles can a real cloud killer. :(

Relatively dry day here ( Collooney) today. No hail, or sleet, that i noticed anyway :pac: (Head down today)

Still chilly out there however the temps are up on the past few days. Around 5c.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,129 ✭✭✭Wild Bill

Same here - the temp has now risen to 6.2C - it got milder after sunset despite the still clear skies.

So even if a drop of precipitation does make it across the hill it will be of a very un-wintery sort. :(

    It has gotten windier too.
