Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Coincidentally this storm is pretty much on the anniversary of the surprise storm of the 2nd January, 1976. My mother and I drove back from Cork to Kilkenny after seeing my niece who was born on that day. The journey was a nightmare of avoiding fallen and falling trees, ESB poles which had fallen with their wires snaking across the roads sparking, high winds and at times lashing rain. It was probably the most exciting drive of my life because I didn't realise how dangerous it was and my mother's nerves are still shattered from it. :D
