Underrated by who, anyone who has seen him play over the years knows how good he can be when he puts his mind to it.
His problem over his career has been that Armagh have been poor and have had to put up with Tyrone, Donegal and Monaghan in Ulster.

His flakiness hasn’t helped matters either. He could be gone off the panel in a shot if he wasn’t feeling enough love.

Maybe he could give rugby a go.

Who's doing the commentary on the Derry v Armagh game on BBC 2 NI ?

Martin McHugh is the analyst but it sounds like the guy who presents The Mayo GAA podcast on commentary.

    I think it’s Austin O Callaghan.

How many teams are now actually gone/left in the football championship?

Monaghan, Tyrone, Derry, Louth, Carlow, Wexford, Waterford, Clare, Leitrim all gone.

Be mad to think of either of them done and dusted already. You’d think Tyrone would be the ones to make a bigger dent later on in the championship of the two and could yet be done.
Yea that's the odd thing about going back to the old format.

In the backdoor system one would still be wondering about maybe meeting Tyrone in a qualifier or a QF game.
But no, they are now gone.

Same goes for Donegal, from a Connacht or Munster point of view they will only ever meet Donegal in an All Ireland final.

The knockout thing is good, definitely could see it today, just not this early. Hopefully they find some way of having knockout QF’s again in the future instead of those practice match Super 8 games though.

Tell me everyone saw the Joe Brolly Tweet and reply of the year from Michael Mckernan?

Never seen Joe quietened so quick

That aside, Brolly wasn’t wrong about the play acting.

    Absolutely.
However Brolly is the first to use social media to air his opinion.... Nice to see the shoe on the other foot.

The inequity of the championship format will become more apparent after today. Barring a MAJOR, MAJOR shock in Munster, Leinster and Ulster, then Kerry, Dublin and Donegal are already in the AI Semi final, they certainly have one foot in it, and a second one ready to go.

Meanwhile, out West, Roscommon, Galway, and Mayo will slug it out for the remaining place! This was a great opportunity to have an open draw, 32 teams in the Hat and have at it. A missed opportunity IMO

This is the problem with Joe being off the telly. Sitting at home. Idle hands.

And this is the problem with the pubs being closed. After being dumped out of the Championship you should be in one with the rest of the squad. Not worried about what people are saying on twitter. Plenty of time for that later in the week.

well they do say the devil has work for idle hands

Childish reply from the Tyrone lad. If he wasnt rolling round like Neymar after being barely touched fellas wouldnt be commenting on him. Brolly is dead right.

Yesterday you called Monaghan, Cavan two average teams yet in reality both are around the same level of quality as Armagh whom you now reckon will give Donegal a battle?

Definitely on a upward curve under mc geeney
    Back in division 1
Cavan looked a better team last year alright but are now back in division 3 and looked rudderless for 55 mins on Saturday
    Monaghan are spent
    Armagh IMO better then both
But you are correct donegal will probably have to much

Cavan are back to Div 3 but like Cork they are no Div 3 team and will spend 1 year max there. Monaghan are established Div 1 team while Armagh haven't played a game in Div 1 since 2012. If it was between Monaghan and Armagh to avoid the drop next year my money would be on the former.

Donegal had their Ulster final in all but name yesterday.

Mayo have Connacht won if they beat Roscommon. With Sligo conceding the semi final Galway will be going into the final untested

And then Galway will do what Galway does, turn it on v Mayo and flatter to deceive in the AI series.

Donegal's experience will win it for them. Armagh are improving and look a decent side, but everything would have to go their way. I watched the Roscommon-Armagh game a few weeks back and Armagh were so naive. They won't have enough about them to take Donegal at this stage.

It is disappointing that Sligo has to withdraw which means if Galway win 3 matches they win Sam. That is the same amount of matches that takes place in last years Super 8s series. Cavan would need to win 4 championship matches to win Ulster, one more than Galway need to win Sam. I get the whole thing with provincials has always been lopsided but a team withdrawing from one of the smaller provinces makes it worse. If Galway win their one match in the Connacht championship would there be an asterisk beside that title win.

No more than how many Kerry have sometimes had to win to win All Ireland's. Wanna stick asterisks beside them as well while you're at it?

Galway won't win the All Ireland. You can keep your asterisk in your back pocket.
