    Hi,

When is tax due on ETF units sold in 2020? i.e, when does the payment actually have to be made.

    Thanks

There's a revenue manual (27-01a-02) - find the section 5 - "Returns and payment of exit tax" - which indicates that sales made between 1 January and 30 June in a particular year has to pay the exit tax by 30 July of that same year, and sales between 1 July and 31 December in a particular year has to pay exit tax by 30 January of the following year.

what about the €1270 CGT tax relief - do you have to claim that or is it automatically calculated when you declare?

    You need to calculate yourself.
