    I'd say you couldn't really go wrong with 5W-30 in a marine diesel.

    Do you not have the engine manual?

    Thanks Andy. This is what the manual says
    Use lubricants corresponding to the following international speci- fications: ACEA E3/API CF4/MIL L 2104E/F for turbocharged engi- nes;

    I was looking at buying this oil https://www.adverts.ie/15534429 but based on your reccomadation I would be better to get https://www.adverts.ie/5593331

    The engines are Iveco aifo 8061 srm33

    Hi pm. As with reply over here on this thread (didn’t realise you had posted here also) https://touch.boards.ie/thread/2057952255

    15W-40 will be fine. Most oils of this grade are now on API-CJ4 spec. CF4 was introduced in 1990. So 15w40 with any of the grades CF, CG, CH, CI or CJ4 will be fine to use.
    It’s also often cheaper than fully synth oil. Agri dealers usually around €60 mark for 20 litres.

    Regards.
