Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    A lot if not all of the examples in this thread are just bastardizations of the original name in Irish

    Bring back Irish placenames I say, often they are much more attractive. And you can relate to the local area and understand where the name originally came from

    There is a village called Wan k too. I've had my photo taken at the sign there, along with thousands of other English speakers too probably. Wonder what the locals think.
