Does anyone know please where the car park that you can climb the (big) Sugarloaf is exactly? And if the hike to the summit from
this carpark is a direct marked path up the Sugarloaf itself or if you have to weave your way up public roads and across farmland to find the summit yourself?

    Many thanks.

Here is the Sugarloaf car park:

Just park there and make your way to the summit starting on the huge wide grassy path. You really can not go wrong here, trust me :) There are probably dozens of other people at it too, you would almost never see the car park empty during day light hours.

As you leave Kilmacaogue you'll drive up a steep hill, the Long Hill. Just after it levels out you'll see an open space to your left with a fence around it and a little white building, this is the old Calary filling station. The turn off to the car park is just after this. You can't miss it.

Just for anyone else who stumbles across this thread, be very careful parking in that car park and under no circumstances leave anything visible in the car.
It's regularly visited by the criminal fraternity and on one occasion we were there, a couple of cars were broken into.
That being side, unfortunately you'll see broken car glass in many other hiking car parks also.
