In respect of gay porn, the number of Irish 'performers' might surprise the general population.

Do you believe everything that's sold in the media? I suggest you do some research and not hang on the words of bigots.

Not only are Europeans more open to sex, that particular Bohemian part of Europe - Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania have a far healthier attitude to sex and nudity in general.

They simply cannot contemplate the numerous hang-ups that we have. We may no longer be active catholics, but the foundation for our social norms is still very rooted in a deep shame-filled conservative attitude to sex and nudity. We have made great progress and continue to do so, but it will probably take generations before we can completely shake off the legacy of our "sex and nudity are evil and shall not even be discussed, let alone tolerated" past.

I think there's something to the whole religion aspect - the Czech Republic has a long history of atheism, and is perhaps the most 'godless' state in Europe. Consider as well that Prague is the capital of Bohemia - whose name has long been used to describe unconventional lifestyles.

On one of my first ever independent trips away was about 20 odd years ago (I was about 20 or 21 at the time) myself and a mate took to off to prague for 4 or 5 nights.

I was (or at least I thought I was) far from sheltered or naïve but I was actually shocked at the level of in your face sleaze, prostitution, drugs and general debauchery. I'd never seen anything like it before........took to it like a duck to water mind, but I suppose that's a different story:D

I haven't been back since, but I can't imagine it's cleaned up it's act too much. Over the years I've known a handful of Czech / Slovak women and they were mostly quite overtly sexual. Just seems to be their way...and fair play to them I say!

I don't get the push back on the notion that sex trafficking is actually happening.

Why are so many saying its BS ?

Some Moldovan girl is told she can earn a lot more money in Ireland as a secretary.

So she pays someone to fake a visa etc and get her passage to Ireland.

When she gets here there is no secetrary job, she ends up in a brothel in Longford with her passport and money taken and he family threatened if she runs.

    It happens.

    It happens.

Possibly, but I doubt it happens that much.

To cut a long story short, there are so many people who are willing to do it for money, that there is just very little need to smuggle container loads of Moldovan hotties into the midlands to service the randy farmers, with all the effort and trouble that entails - an ad on a website will fill up your knocking shop for you in no time!

I've been there twice. About 20 years ago and three years ago.

the first time I was there I remember women stopping me all the time. the poor girls were all waiting for taxi's along these streets at 3am in the morning. I didn't speak czech but I assumed they were asking what the time was so I kept showing them my watch.
And no, I'm not joking. I was that naive.

Last time I was there there were prostitutes on the main street, the equivalent of O'Connell st. They kept approaching me and trying to embrace me so they could put their hands into my back pocket. It did shock me a bit how blatant it all was.

    Shocked me anyway!

I'm a bit old fashioned in my approach to debauchery I suppose - I'd rather have to actively seek it out than have it dangled in front of me every 10 steps down the main street! (ooh matron;))

    These are not nice people
I personally don't put prostitution down as the ultimate freedom for those who work in it.

Wow, and you don't see the correlation between Ruhama and these gangs?

Do you even know what the difference between Ireland in the 70's and the Launderettes and today?

Besides the numbers, Sweet F All.

Sure, we shrunk our definition of "immoral girls", allowing single mothers and promiscuous girls to join normal society, so there are less victims today. But women who work in prostitution are still left behind and treated like something society scrapes off its shoe. The same evil mentality exists. The same state collusion exists. And the same ignorance from the public exists.

When the evil cúnts realised the game was up and closed the last of the launderettes in the 90's, they simply changed their name to Ruhama and continued their work. With politicians and judges wrapped around their fingers, they continued to be the official unofficial state agency for dealing with "women of ill repute".

Joined by (what should be their enemy) radical feminists who detest prostitutes as "sell-outs" for giving men pleasure, they continue to receive ridiculous amounts of state funding, receive fines from the courts, "deal" with women found guilty of working in prostitution and are able to get laws pushed through Dail Eireann with full consensus from opposition parties, no debate and no media scrutiny.

Since their foundation they have harassed and mentally tortured girls who work in prostitution, do everything in their power to make working in prostitution as dangerous as possible for the girls, have done everything in their power to keep both themselves and prostitution away from the microscope and, despite being feared and detested by the overwhelming majority or working girls, are still described by all media channels as "speaking on behalf of prostitutes".

Ask yourself this - Why are there no gangs of Romanians trying to kill each other about the dental profession or the lucrative plumbing trade? Why is nobody worried that their may be "slaves" working in McDonalds? The more we drive prostitution, the more we can expect this. There are huge sums of money involved (a girl can potentially earn hundreds of thousands a year tax free) and as long as the there is no government/legal involvement, criminals will take over. And when you have criminals running the show, the girl's feelings will not be the priority. So yes, I have no doubt that some women working in prostitution in Ireland are doing so against their will and that number has risen in recent years due to Ruhama's laws and will continue to rise.

But it is extremely stupid and offensive to think that the majority of (or all, according to Ruhama) girls are being forced. The vast majority are there of their own volition, earning sums far in excess of what they would earn in a mainstream job. But it is becoming tougher for them to avoid the criminal gangs and competition from slaves.

P.S. porn is not exploitative. Nor has the Czech Republic only embraced a free sexual lifestyle since becoming a "1st world" country. With the rise of the internet, porn has simply exploded so you are seeing more of it now.

What do you think would be better scenario for that girl. An Ireland where prostitution is legal, strongly regulated and socially acceptable or an Ireland where prostitution is effectively criminalised, the closest you have to regulators are criminal gangs and Ruhama (I would actually describe Ruhama as the more evil and dangerous of the two!) and is socially treated like dog****. Why aren't they forcing her in to any other profession?

What's weird is that even though countries like France and Germany etc are supposed to be more sexually open minded than us, I have heard women from those parts who are living in Ireland say that irish woman dress like prostitutes or slutty when they go out at the weekend (I have yet to hear a man from Europe complain about it ;))

Some spanish wan even started a facebook page about it.

Oddly enough, one of the only times I have heard a porn star with a Dublin accent (other than in that infamous F**ked In Ireland trilogy) was when a Czech* chick who has apparently lived here from the age of ten or eleven became pretty popular in the last few years. The moment I saw her, in a gangbang, I knew I knew her face from somewhere and then she spoke. Apparently (from an interview) she ran some hairdressers / nail salon around George's St for years but always had the dream to be in porn and so sold up and off she went.

With the amount of UK pornstars on Twitter and the like you think there would be at least one famous one from Dublin though (or Leitrim, or Cork or wherever) exploiting the fact that there are almost none and making a killing. The ones from England are always tweeting about expensive sex lines you can call to talk to them (or so my mates tell me) and so I can only imagine that any with an Irish accent would be hugely successful, especially with the yanks.

*Well, she's known as a Czech pornstar but I have a sneaking suspicion that she's 100% Dub and is either pretending to be Czech or exaggerating that part of her so she can retain some anonymity here maybe.

**And if so, good for her, sure why not.

Apologies, I just spent the last few minutes banging my head off my desk.

Ireland's laws have everything to do with it. If Ireland had different laws and regulated prostitution instead of pushing it underground, no criminal gang would have tricked her into coming here (and even if they did, she would be detected quite quickly, given all the assistance required and the criminals prosecuted).

I was going to name her but then I thought well sure if I recognized her as someone I've seen about, then surely others would too and then before you know it someone's posting something like the following on her FB: "Jacinta, ya mad thing, what are you at getting gangbanged in Prague telling everyone you're Czechoslovakian!" (doubt they'd be au fait with the latest Austro Hungarian dissolutions).

Next thing you know the Sunday World have her splashed across their front page and over corn flakes at the weekend the Irish public are reading about how Jacinta Reilly who runs a creche in Crumlin (no idea if she does or not, just thinking worst case scenario) leads a double life as a Czechoslovakian porn star (doubt they'd be too au fait with the latest Austro Hungarian dissolutions either) who specialises in interracial bukkakees.

....and I'd feel guilty, even more guilty than I do after watching one of her scenes.

Jacinta you go girl, after 40 hours enduring those little bastard gangsters in training, being gangbanged by a dozen Czech desperados must be a walk in the park!
