Does anyone know what brand of stove this is so I can try and get instruction manual online ?
I’ve attached a photo showing a model number I think

Also any advice on what fuel to use and how to light ?
I’ve always had an open fire up until this point. Was sick of sourcing and burning turf but I’ve a felling I’ll be back to it

Also looks like rope seal might need replacing . It’s on amazon but in diff widths so hoping manual will tell me which to get

That model number seems to be the part number for the actual door itself.

    It's a door for a Hunter stove, either a HAWK 3D, or a HAWK 4D

    Hawk 3 manual:
    https://www.directstoves.com/downloads/dl/file/name/Hawk_3_MKI_Instructions.pdf/

    Hawk 4 manual:
    https://www.harworthheating.co.uk/documents/Technical/Hunter/Hawk%204%20MKI%20Instructions.pdf

I don't know what the differences there are between the two stoves.

    Disastrous first attempt at lighting

    Opened bottom wheel fully
Pushed top one to the right
Lit firelighters and kindling for about 10 minutes
    All good

Put in 3 spilt briquettes and things went south
Fire stared to die and every time I open door to try and add anything loads of smoke comes out??????
There is also smoke going out the house chimney as I double checked

    What am I doing wrong

Even though there is smoke coming out of the chimney, it doesn't mean the chimney is clear.
Get the chimney cleaned and try again.

Is there ventilation in the room?

    Is the chimney clean?

Assuming you've into somewhere with one. Any chance it was installed properly?

These things are foolproof once installed right. Carbon monoxide can kill you if not.

    There is one window vent
Going to ask to get the chimney cleaned

I actually got it going again after that
Fired a load more sticks and firelighters in and left it
    It took off

Very sooty smell in the room still though
There is a carbon monoxide monitor in the room and I checked that it works

All was going well since......I replaced door rope too.
But tonight I managed somehow to crack the glass. I think I hit the door with the grate tool when closing it.
There is a crack now running the whole width of the door :(
I am letting the fire die out now as I am not comfortable using it with crack in glass
Where would I get replacement glass? I will be able to fit it myself I'd imagine

Hopefully that’s the end of the issues with the bloody thing
