    Hey everyone,

Hope you've been enjoying the good weather of late. Unfortunately, it looks like it's about to break, according to some of the posts in the Weather forum and further afield. Well, hopefully it'll be back when exams start up!

First up, how about a drink? A couple of forums are planning get togethers in the next little while. The LGBT forum is currently trying to lock down details of its meetup, which could take place as soon as this weekend. Meanwhile, if you're a fan of the golden age of video games, the Arcade & Retro forum will be gathering on June 3rd for some beers and possibly games.

In a very smooth transition, if I do say so myself, we have a new forum that will keep you abreast of What's On around Ireland. Not only can Boards-related events be posted about, but any event across the country can be advertised and discussed. And, unlike everywhere else on Boards, if you have a vested interest in an event, you can still post about it here!

If sharing details of interesting events with others who may share an interest or get some enjoyment from it wasn't enough of an incentive, Richer Sounds has a 49" HD TV to give away. Full competition details are here, but essentially all you have to do is create a much thanked thread for an event. We'll pick out the most thanked event post each week for four weeks and one of those posters will be randomly chosen to win this fantastic prize!

You know what would look great on said TV? Your matches in the 22nd season of the FIFA league over in the Pro Evolution & FIFA forum. It looks like signups are still being accepted, so it's a good chance to scratch that competitive FIFA itch.

Over in the Forum Games forum, they're about to get another Werewolf game underway. This one will be Simpsons-themed. It looks like they're fully booked, but you might be able to get yourself on the subs list. If you don't get to play, it's still very interesting to follow along with the utter confusion and chaos and maybe you'll find yourself eager to play the next one - newbies are always welcome.

And now onto some news that will make 99% of us feel lazy :D Over in the Athletics / Running forum, Enduro went for a Fastest Known Time (FKT) record attempt running from Mizen to Malin. Looking at Google Maps alone was enough for me to feel overwhelmed. They accomplished this feat in 75 hours 47 minutes, breaking the previous world record by a little under 12 hours. Incredible stuff! And the thread itself is a great read.

While something like that may not be on your radar, if you're considering doing the shorter Dublin City Marathon for the first time, the Athletics / Running forum has launched its DCM 2017 Mentored Novices Thread. It's recommended that you have some running under your belt, but you don't need to be a complete novice to marathons. From now until the big day, you'll have training plans, advice, and encouragement at your disposal.

We'd also like to welcome back one member of their community from their latest adventure trekking to Everest Base Camp. If you think that sounds interesting, you're in luck as there's an AMA up with many interesting entries, eye-opening responses, and amazing photos!

Speaking of photos, the Farming & Forestry forum is running a new photo competition for the month of May. The theme this month is "Rear Window," covering what you're at when you're on the tractor this month.

There are some other things of note happening across the forums. Visitors to the Politics Cafe are currently being asked to submit their own ideas for a charter.

Meanwhile, the Buying forum (under Motors) has a thread in which people can promote their car sale ads. The post requirement on this has been dropped to 10 posts, so if you have an account, but mainly lurk, it should be easier for you to get more exposure for your ad.

That's it for me. I'll leave ye get to posting events...and good luck! :)
