Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Guys and gals - can I ask a favor please? Can you take a look at this Scottish death cert and see if you can make out the 'cause of death'? It's rather lengthy.

    The first term is a medical term presumably.

    After that I get "1 month 6 days. Sudden
    waste cause of death which followed
    head
    lasting three weeks as......"

    More words follow 'as' but they're a blur. Anyone do any better? Even the first term would be great.

    I agree that the 1st word is Anaemia.
    My interpretation is:

    Anaemia ---
    1 month 6 days
    Sudden ---
    cause of death which
    followed after ---
    --- headaches lasting
    three weeks, as cert. by

    Thanks all. I would never have got all that!

    I have retired nurses and a GP, (wider) family members, on the case. If we work it out I'll report back.

    Agree with most of the interpretation but could the first word be Amnesia - which may link in with the headache?

    I'd go along with everything you said Pretzill, except it looks more like Anaemia than Amnesia.

    So the relatives have reported back and we're all stumped by the second word. :confused:

    But my brother came up with a pretty good shout for the word after 'sudden'. He thinks maybe it's 'crisis' given that 'cerebral crisis' is another term for a stroke and she was having severe headaches.

    I think the second word in the brackets is a mis-spelling of Cholemia, a blood disorder which can induce coma. Supports the "sudden coma"
