Never been myself, but some of my colleagues in work have done the trip, they all said it was fantastic but very expensive, a once in a lifetime thing or suchlike. I've been to that part of Finland before but during the summer, the midnight sun is a rel head melter!!

Just back from Lapland. Wowsers. All I can say is if you're thinking of going do NOT do DIY. We went on package with Canterbury. Got there Wed came home yesterday. From the minute you land you're looked after by the reps. Every single day you're on the search for Santa. I won't spoil it by telling you what activities are on each day but it's action packed. You're on the go from early morning til 6 pm. Kids will love it and adults too. I scoffed when the Mrs booked it as its not cheap but it's worth the money in hindsight. The artic circle we visited yesterday (where you'd be going on DIY trips). It's nothing but commercial nonsense with ques to see Santa. If youre thinking of going splash the extra few Bob and get lost in the magic. We made some great new friends on our bus. I'm still buzzing after it TBH. One last thing it's next to impossible to spend money. Your meals are included and you won't have time for shopping
