Just thought I'd put this on people's radar since weeks like this are great for getting things done.

Quite a few teachers don't seem to realise that if there's any chance you'll be moving job (non-permanent etc.), you actually need to have Garda clearance that is less than two years old. This time of year would be a good time to beat the rush if that applies to you.

    Hope you're enjoying the break:)

You can't apply for Garda Vetting all by yourself.

It has to be done on your behalf by a school or other organization

You can ask the Teaching Council to send you a form to get vetted again. I did it in January.

I'm going to do this, don't know what will happen by September. How do you go about requesting it?

As sitstill said, you need to phone the Teaching Council and request the form. It's not available for download.

Sitstill didn't say phone, that's why I asked. I looked it up. You can also email vetting[at]teachingcouncil.ie

You can phone or email them and you'll get the form in the post in a day or two.
