Storm Ciara hit Central Europe. Woman and her teenage daughter both died when hit by flying roof in popular ski resort Bukowina Tatrzańska in Poland. Another daughter seriously injured, teenage boy received non-life threatening injuries.

Nearby located Polish Met Office (IMGW) weather station recorded 22.3 m/s (approx. 80 km/h) gust on that very moment, but I'm pretty sure it was stronger in the place of accident.

Update regarding Bukowina tragedy - third victim died in hospital. Now, tragic summary: 52 years old woman and her 2 daughters (aged 15 and 21) died, their 16 y.o. cousin remains in hospital.

Polish Fire Brigade responded to 5164 calls just yesterday - mostly fallen trees and blown-off roofs.

This is unreal cold considering that Antarctica's record low is -89.2°c and one would expect such low temperatures in July and August:

Covid-19 aside, it's strange that I didn't see that reported anywhere in the media.
