Hopefully Im asking in the correct forum.

So I have a video in mkv format and I want to change it to something like MP4 or AVI ... something that I can copy/burn on to a DVD and watch using a standard DVD player.

Someone told me to download and try "handbrake" which I did but it was using 99% of the memory so I stopped. In any event it looked a wee bit difficult.

Is there any free dummy proof software available that you would recommend?
