Smyths price down to €59.99 now. Nothing on Argos.ie yet but the UK sites lists £54.99 which would indicate it will likely be €64.99 here, last year Argos sold it here for €59.99

Amazon randomly down £1 to £49.00

    Downloaded it on EA Play.

After one game I'm sick of it. Same ****e as last year. Like the NBA 2k games, it's a cut and paste job. At least with 2k we're going to get a different version for next gen.

I hated last year, so getting the same game again isnt much of a sell.

Not sure I'll even play another game of it and itll be the first time I dont buy a FIFA.

Conceding in the 90th min to lose 5-4 when winning 4-3 didnt help but im basing it more of the time I put into 20.

Not sure was it noted as I dont follow the updates anymore but the main commentator is someone I've never even heard of... bit said they couldn't get any of the numerous EPL commentators and opt for someone unheard of.

You mean Derek Rae? He worked with ESPN UK and BT Sports and now does the Amazon games. While also being the main US commentator for the PL games on NBC. It seems FIFA are slowly moving away from Sky broadcasting to the NBC broadcasting.

Played a bit of the trial there a while ago, and as expected, it’s utter trash. Gameplay is somehow even worse and more unresponsive than 20.

It’ll be the first FIFA I haven’t bought on release date since 08, and unless the next gen version is a big improvement, I don’t expect to buy it at any point. There’s actually less content as well, no license for Roma or the entire Serie B league and there aren’t any new leagues or teams to even make up for it.

Don’t waste your money on this, would be my simple review.

There is no incentive for EA to make a 'better' FIFA..next gen won't be any different either. FIFA isn't about football anymore, it's about UT and monetisation. Churn out the same game every year, throw some buzzwords around about new 'insert word here' engine but really it's just minor tweaks to make it feel different in some small way. They don't care about the players or the game, they care about the money and regardless of how poor the game is people will still flock to it and throw money at UT all year-long opening packs.

You just have to look at the amount of cards they have introduced and different variations and upgrades since UT began. The thread here on UT is constantly busy all season and the amount of 'content creators' on youtube etc pumping tons of coins into pack openings and driving the market, all of which just makes people want to follow what they do, have those players and open packs trying to get some of the same luck. Casual playing football is gone and its 'pay to win' with people brainwashed into thinking they have to spend for fear of being 'left behind'..buying the game for €70-90 depending on which version they get and then instantly dropping another €100-200 on points for packs and no doubt more throughout the season.

Until people stop feeding EA via UT with all their money don't expect there to be a different or better FIFA for years to come unless some form of monetisaition ban comes in.

Yeah UT is obviously what they care about but it's weird that they've managed to make iterations worse year by year rather than just have it in stasis.

How Derek Rea pronounces Bruno Fernandes is very annoying, it's an alright game pretty much the same as last year which what we all expected

They could change it so it feels like an actual football game, or would that be too big an ask?

I'd say the average person doesnt know him.

I've an IPTV box so watch on the American channels at time and I didnt recognise his voice.

Obviously Lee Dixon has done co commentary work on UK television but it's a weird set up considering theres so many UK based commentators, you would think one of them would have wanted and got the job.

Maybe that’s the Portuguese way of saying Fernandes.

EDIT: From seeing Alex Telles' Man United interview he says it the same way Rae does so he's obviously pronouncing it the correct way.

Did anybody get kicked off and a lock sign under the icon and when you click it says cannot use the content. Cannot connect to the server to verify the licence.

    Any ideas what to do?

I still had a little bit of time with the early access.

The Dual Entitlement is very good. I was going to put off getting it until I got my hands on the PS5. (Although, sounds like there won't be much of a graphics update, if any, between consoles).
    What is Dual Entitlement?
Once you have your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, Dual Entitlement enables you to upgrade your copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X, at no extra cost. Discless consoles require a digital entitlement to upgrade*.

How do I make sure I benefit from Dual Entitlement on my PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X?
If you purchase FIFA 21 for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll be able to upgrade your copy once you have the corresponding next generation console (PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X) at no extra cost by downloading it to your console up until the launch of FIFA 22.

Do I have to purchase FIFA 21 digitally to benefit from Dual Entitlement?
The physical copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4 also includes your entitlement to download and play the PlayStation 5 version of the game (and Xbox One with Xbox Series X), so you’ll still be able to upgrade via Dual Entitlement if you purchase a next generation console with a disc drive.

If you intend to buy a discless next generation console, you will need to purchase FIFA 21 digitally to take advantage of the Dual Entitlement offer as physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles.

How does the Dual Entitlement upgrade work on next generation consoles?
If you buy a physical copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll be able to download and play FIFA 21 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store at no extra cost once the game releases. You’ll need your FIFA 21 disc in the tray to play FIFA 21 on PlayStation 5 as physical discs cannot currently be used to upgrade to discless consoles.

If you buy a digital copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, your copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X will be bundled with the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One copy, and you’ll be able to download and play FIFA 21 from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store at no extra cost once it releases later this year.

£49.95 in UK so may be €55 here?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,725 ✭✭✭bigron2109

Cheers for that. I’ve a €10 off over €50 spend that needs to be used this weekend so that would be nice if it’s roughly around that price .

My local Tesco never sells anything that isn't food. Not sure where would be best to get it.

Smyths had it for €60 but it’s sold out. I’m not giving GameStop €70 for it. So it’s either Tesco or Argos. Hopefully Tesco have a deal on it.

Went into my local Tesco in Wexford this morning and they don’t have it out yet . The fella said he hasn’t seen it. Any other Tesco’s have it ?

I see Argos is €62.99 for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,725 ✭✭✭bigron2109

It’s €59.99 in Tesco . Got it for €50 as I had a €10 off voucher so delighted with that.

Spend over €50 and get €10 off. I got about 4 of them in the post a few weeks ago and this one was due to expiry on Sunday.
