Need advice/recommendation PCOS

    Hi all,

I have been diagnosed with PCOS for 10 years, I have not been on any medication for years. I want to get in the right space for having kids and giving my self the best chance of having them but am struggling to get any advice from my G.P, bar to lose weight. Which I know I need to do, but have struggled to lose weight since I came off metformin. I feel like I need to change G.P as it seems to not be forthcoming with advice, and have booked in twice for a cervical screening to be told them would do it the next time im in, I have never had a screening so am nervous enough about having it without going for the app for them to cancel it.

Does any one have any recommendation of a G.P around Tullamore / Portarlinton.

Does any one have recommendations of a specialist etc, I would have to pay but I would be willing to start this process.

    Thanks in advance

Leanonme, it's not easy starting out with on the ttc road with pcos. The best thing to do is contact your gp and ask for a referral to see an endocrinologist.
Losing weight really is a good idea but is so much more difficult when you have pcos to contend with. Keep a diary of your cycle and get familiar with that if you haven't don't that yet.
I'd suggest checking the cervical check website to see where you can go to for your free smear test and get that ball rolling too!
    Hope this helps a little.

    Hello, I'm new around.
I was wondering if you had had any luck with the GP and your PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS 10 years ago or so, but it really has only become and struggle now and the GP is really not being helpful. I am not sure if I should go private to a gyneacologist or changing GP...

    Thanks :)
