    Lads how would a DIY Home System bought on Amazon such as the Arlo DIY System compare to the GSD, HKC and Siemens systems mentioned here?

    No not at all I had a look at the arlo there few issues one is no shock sensors for each door and window to keep the burgler out . Also in a power failure how does your Arlo work . The other alarms mentioned by you all are manufactured to EN50131 level this is needed to satisfy your insurance requirements.

    Thanks, so what is the ideal system for a terraced house within an estate.

    We had an attempted burglary and one thing I regret is not having a camera system.

    Have been looking through Amazon and have seen Hikvision recommended here. There are too many options to research properly.

    I'm not sure what way to combine everything.

    Even when looking throught the HKC versus Siemens thread there are large differences in pooling etc.
