U16s win the All Ireland, winning by 2 in an exciting finish

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,385 ✭✭✭The White Feather

That was a great game. I forgot that they were only u16 at times as the skill level was so high. Had the munster final on as well but this game was more exciting. I thought Kilkenny were going to pip us at the end. They even hit the post on a goal chance to go a point up. Incredible stuff from both teams. Some excellent scores throughout.

Seems like a strong team. Does anyone know how this aged faired in underage tournaments

Clare in the qualifiers. I suppose all games are tough at this stage, Clare looked very good at times v Wexford.

4pm Sunday in Limerick, it's on Sky.

I simply do not like when we play in Limerick, Cork teams never seem to play too well there.

    3-20 v 2-17

What a fantastic win ! They hurled like their life depended on it in the second half and ran out worthy winners!

Fantastic to see yet another super performance!

One of the best second halfs I've ever seen from a Cork team.

  • Registered Users Posts: 715 ✭✭✭Mac_Lad71

    Great comeback...absolute pleasure to watch.

    Well done to all concerned.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Great from players and management. Trusted the players to turn it around, trusted the lads on yellows from the first half not to pick up another. Should be a great game against Limerick in the final

U20s were sublime. First to every ball. Winning dirty ball. Dominating in the air. Savage stuff from a Cork team.

Great win last night. Great to see a Cork team stand up and be counted

  • Registered Users Posts: 58 ✭✭HoliyMoliy

There is some nice talent coming through. They showed great heart in the second half.

Half time in the Munster GAA Football Minor Championship Quarter Final

    Waterford 0-0 Cork 2-18

No its not a misprint. Waterford haven't scored at all. Fell sorry for those young lads getting a hammering. Nobody gets anything out of this really

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,385 ✭✭✭The White Feather

    Its over.

Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship Quarter Final

    Full Time Cork: 5-28(43)

    Waterford : 0-3(3)

Two 40 point wins for hurlers over Clare and now football over Waterford

    Also,

In Ladies football Munster LGFA U16A Championship

    Full time

    Tipperary 1-04 Cork 4-15

Cork teams seem to be on a very nice run recently. Hopefully we can keep this going!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,551 ✭✭✭SeaFields

Well done to the minors but that is absolutely pointless for those young Waterford lads.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,273 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

A 'b' championship would suit them better.

Good to have a run out though.

I agree on 'B' championship; but on the run out... get a harder match against a decent club minor team I'd guess or the Cork U16's...

All-Ireland U20 hurling medallists Brian and Eoin Roche and Colin O’Brien have been added to the senior panel ahead of Saturday’s All-Ireland SHC round 2 qualifier clash with Clare in Limerick.

Very interesting additions. Great to see youth being added in to the panel

after conceding 2 early goals its been all Cork since the water break, 1-13 to 2-3 at half time

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,021 ✭✭✭zetecescort

Cork 3-20 Tipperary 3-10 FT. once we got on top the result was never in doubt. conceding a big score a worry though.

Dublin beaten by Offaly in the Leinster final

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,385 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Great win !! There seemed to be massive space in our defence though so that's a worry going forward. Shame about the mic cutting out on the acceptance speech.

We have some great footballers coming through it seems. Corbett looks amazing as he was slotting over points for fun but went off at half time injured. Hayes looks a great dual player. All around we look very good except parting like the red sea for those goals.

That was Cork's 28th Munster Under 20 Title joining Kerry at the top of the roll!!

I had Cork game on computer and Dublin/Offaly game on tv. Great to see Offaly win.

What is it with all these mullets on show? Is that back in style now?!! 🤣🤣

  • Registered Users Posts: 97 ✭✭prishtinaboy99

Great to see Offaly coming back in both codes a bit, looked like they were dead in the water, fair dues to Duignan despite him being a pain to listen to. Those Offaly hurling teams of the late 80s 90s were something else skill wise. Don’t think we will ever see a team like that again as you need big ball winners sadly these days.

Munster U20 football winners. Very nice. Level with Kerry at this grade.

Some great footballers in that team, 2 footed forwards even.

Also great to see Dublin beaten by Offaly, totally deserved too. They must be thrilled, 26 years I think since they last won it.
