i recently got a quote from an apprentice working in the city. honestly their stuff is gorgeous and i was shocked by how low their price was for a decent sized piece. I'm not going to break the bank ofc but i was thinking of throwing in an extra 20-50 as a tip. just wondering if this would be ok? or a bit weird? generally I just give arists what they ask for but in this case they really deserve the boost.

People never turn down money. Wouldn’t. Be weird at all.

    I usually tips artists anyway.

Yeah tipping is fairly customary for artists. I always throw in an extra 10 or 20 depending on the piece

Always make you feel good when you tip anywhere provided you get good service, bit surprised you were given the quote from an Apprentice? was he/she going to do the work? as you have seen their work you seem to be happy, be careful 'good work is not cheap and cheap work is not good. If this is you first have a look around before committing yourself.
