I think they didn't have enough material for a full episode so they got everyone to speak as slow as possible.

In fairness, that's hardly a new feature to this show - been a hallmark from season 1 episode 1.

So they kidnap the girl again. This feels like two episodes ago. Still love the whispers even though the more time spent with them the less cool they appear.

They didn't kidnap here though did they , the kid is trying to rescue her from the mother , thought it was a great episode

Enjoyed it, made the Whisperers feel a little bit more ominous and a bit more sense of their numbers. But it does feel a bit like Negan the sequel

It’s definitely improved this season from recent seasons but probably too late to reignite interest in the show. Just look at how quiet this board has become. The Whisperers are an interesting new enemy. At least for the moment.

The Gabriel subplot just seems silly though. Like who cares? Gabriel is a character who should have been killed off ages ago.

Another good episode. Fair play a solid turn around this season

I am not has harsh on the episode as some others - it was definitely a place-setting episode (some of which could most certainly have been spread out in other episodes, but a lot of it needed to be in this episode and hopefully we're now set for a strong run of the last few episodes.

The whisperers kept reminding me of the apes in planet of the apes - think it's the way they hold their arms. Possibly the whole alpha thing too.. Suitably weird and scary tho .

Thought it was good episode, particularly like the way they have developed their masks with the ties at the back, and the (gross) way they made the masks... human ingenuity!

The big difference is that there is going to be more interaction with walkers in this feud. The Negan War was man on man, guns etc for the most part.

With the Whisperers' feud , the dangers of the walkers and large herds will be revived. The walkers have become relatively a defeatable force for the most part for the last few seasons, probably since No Way Out.

Alpha and Beta are brilliantly cast and much better portrayed (from the comics) that I thought they would ever be. I even like Lydia, and the actress seems to be good.

But, yeah, a lot of filler and the whole Gabriel/Rosita/Siddiq is just rushed and contrived plot driven snoozefest to accomodate what comic readers probably know will happen.

Now they are re-using baddies - Negan with a mask unfortunately. Story just seems to be heading towards yet another confrontation and some of the stuff around it is almost soapy.
