Brackets & Light mounts - Universal?

Thinking of setting up a dynamo light system, ie dynamo off the brake, preferably a headlight style off the crown bolt (I believe that's the term?), and then a light on the back (seat or on a rack, I believe the latter is possible?)

Anyway, my question: are the brackets universal, or are they all a bit different? i.e. could I buy a dynamo, and find it doesn't fit the bracket I've ordered? Same thing with the light and the bracket off the crown bolt, could I be left with incompatible components? I don't seem to be able to see any standards.

    Cheers!

What bracket have you bought? Avoid a bottle dynamo on anything other than a bike just for going to the shops. Hub dynamos are the way to go for any distance or commuting.

    Start here and here
