Is 'cuddles' code for sex?

I have a feeling this is me being naive and innocent, but I'm trying to get my head around some phrases guys use on apps when I'm chatting to them.

The main one is when they say something like "I love cuddles" or "come over for a cuddle" (pre-covid). The innocent side of me thinks that they are just looking for some intimacy and not necessarily sex, but then I figure everyone on Tinder and Grindr is after sex and that's all it could mean.

I've told guys before that I'm not after sex when they've said that and then they get offended or say "that's not what I mean". Am I misreading it, or are they just backing down on their true intentions after I said I wasn't interested?

Another one that always gets me is the question "what are you into"? I always thought this meant sex wise, but again when I say I'm not after sex they say "I just mean hobbies".

It's so confusing trying to decode everything!

    Good question

I think it is but to be honest I'm a bit unsure

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
