    plateau is the right word


    that the problem with not looking at the stats



    you get low weekend numbers and high Wednesday numbers etc and if you just look at yesterdays figures you get a false impression


    the trend is down, but a drop of 4k to 2k in 2 weeks is still the same as a drop from 1000 to 500 in relative terms




    if you can't rely on the examiner to get the number of people holidaying right then why would you rely on the journal for this

    Maybe the government need to stop appealing to people's better natures because it certainly does not seem to working for some.

    In fairness to the Brits though, at least accompanied by their draconian measures they are at still complementing it with a steady stream of vaccinations so they have something to be optimistic about.

    Here, we're still trundling along as we always do and waiting to follow someone else's lead. Pat Kenny mentioned this morning the Germans went off and ordered another 30,000,000 vaccines themselves for their citizens. Hungarians are about to do the same. We however are stuck in a 'state of chassis' to quote O'Casey's character.

    they wont arrive until after end of the summer, been dunked 50 times at this stage


    not sure hungary is the place to be copying either


    when will they even get these vaccines in the first place, i'm sure the Russians will not be throwing them away

    morale is grand, blitz spirit, chin up


    if you aren't drowning in your own body fluid you will be grand


    vaccines were always the only way out of this once it went worldwide


    so no one has left us in the position


    i'm sure there is a reason for the numbers


    versus scotland numbers etc, the supply of AZ is low here and its much easier to dispense that

    Northern Ireland: Covid restrictions will return in autumn and last into 2022 after respite in summer, warns Chief Medical Officer McBride

    Speaking at the Department of Health’s weekly briefing yesterday afternoon, he said: “I suspect that we will require some degree of the current restrictions, certainly for the rest of this year, probably enhanced again in the autumn and winter of this year, and I think it will probably be into the following year before we see things a little more normal.

    You would need to be:

    A) A UK Resident
    B) Registered with a GP practice there (easier said than done - with some GP practices having considerable waiting lists)
    C) Have a UK National Health Number

    Just remember its not going to allow you travel abroad at present as UK residents are not permitted to travel for holiday or other leisure purposes

    Tangent comment but the CDC is dropping the quarantine requirement for vaccinated people even if they are close contact. As long as they have no symptoms

    Even if I didn't then it's a very safe assumption I'd know all about the requirements.
