Best home air purifier (/dehumidifier) for treating kitchen smells etc?

Getting rid of the smell of fried food etc.

Just having the air nice and fresh smelling.

Basically my apartment is a kitchen/living room and I have frequent guests (run a home business from that room - sectioned with room separators) so don't want the smell of fried chicken (which I cook daily) hitting them in the face.

If it really gets the job done, I'm prepared to invest what's necessary, but maybe a couple cheaper options may be just as effective?

The room is ceramic/laminated wood so the smell isn't going to cling to anything, just linger in the air.

Activated carbon filter = responsible for smell filtration

The more significant the amount of carbon in the filter, the more effective the device would be at absorbing odors.

Hepa filter = air purification from toxins.

Size seems to equate to performance in some respects, potential area covered.

Multiple filter passes seem to increase efficacy.

- Filter cleaning and replacement seems to be a consideration in terms of hassle and cost.

It is crucial you get a good and proven air purifier to help with your odor in the home.

Clearly not something I can cheap out on also, if I want the desired effect.

Just gonna have to anti up on this.

There's also "air ionizers".

Do they help with odors, and/or any other technology that would assist with home/kitchen odors?

My youngest has very bad allergies and I wanted to get an air purifier for her bedroom, air purifiers aren't cheap and a lot of them are just coolers, I ended up getting the Dyson Hot+Cold, brilliant yoke, it's so good in fact that I bought a second 1 that I use in my home office, easier than heating the whole house.

I've used the purifier a few times in the kitchen and it's brilliant at getting rid of cooking smells which are something Mrs Clareman hates, we don't have a deep fat fryer but once we has a bit of a grill fire that would have stunk the house out, window open and the Dyson on full whack cleared the smell in less than 5 minutes, couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Cause it's probably the most expensive purifier available - but obviously doubles up as temperature regulation and has every smart tech available built into it.

Can you use this in place of a conventional heater, out of curiosity?

Fantastic to hear they're so effective for odor removal, very encouraging cause, some of my clients don't like the smell of the deep south fried poultry in the air.

Dyson's support is second to none which is probably 1 of the main reasons I got it, other reasons would be that it was always near the top of the ranking (only being knocked off because of price), its economical to run and there's a decent app with it so I can turn it on when I'm not at home. I came into money at the time so price wasn't a major issue for me, I mainly wanted the best for my daughter, some times of the year she'd come downstairs with her eyes closed cause of alergies and having her constantly on Zytec wasn't a great option.

A problem with a lot of stuff like dehumidifiers is there isn't a boost mode when you need it, they just keep going at the rate they are going at whereas sometimes you just want to boost it up to the top to get rid of whatever is wrong at the time.

After much reviewing, landed on

Levoit Core P350

Formerly the levoit LV-H132 was most cost effective + efficient, outdone fairly signifianctly by the Core 300 -

which has been most recently outdone by the Core P 350.

140 british pounds on amazon - not super cheap, but certainly not the devastating 800 of the Dyson etc.

None of the smart dyson features, but functionality in those performance reviews shows it's dramatically increases air quality.

i.e. seems to have no frills, but create performance.

For a 600 euro saving I can live with that.

It won't cool air just push around the already in the room.
