    Women working so hard and retaining possession well but just out of their depth. England have had the ball twice and scored twice. Professional side playing amateurs every week Is just a waste of time.

    Are Ireland semi pro or amateur? Either way it's no contest and not very fair but it's where women's rugby is at the moment....

    The comparable sport I can think of is women’s cricket. About 5/6 pro sides there but the difference is they largely play each other with occasional games against the likes of Ireland outside world cups. England rugby playing amateur sides constantly is just a waste of everyone’s time

    It really diminishes the achievement even for England if they win the grand slam when you are playing only one team that they have already beaten who could actually compete with them....

    England the better side that’s clear, but it’s frustrating to see how poor the refereeing has been. Seems to be very quick to blow to penalize the Irish yet she’s missed a couple of very obvious knock ons by England and a couple of other offenses.

    Rugby Europe confirmed that the world cup qualifiers will be played as a single round-robin tournament on the weekends of 5, 12 and 19 December 2020
    Ireland will be joined by Scotland and Italy at the tournament, along with the winner of the Women’s Rugby Europe Championship 2020, which is due to be completed in October (Spain, Russia and Netherlands are among the teams in action there.)

    The winner of the Rugby World Cup 2021 European Qualifiers will qualify for New Zealand 2021 and the runner-up will progress to the final qualification tournament, which will be organised by World Rugby next year.

    Think they did. Great to see such depth in Leinster. Munster and Ulster really poor in comparison.
    While Bohs are standard bearers of club game. Its such a shame rest of province isnt near as strong..

    Looks like Munster are trying to get another county side to compete in league next season following on from the Kerry side playing this year

    Last night as four clubs in Tipperary committed to an amalgamated adult team to compete in the provincial league and cup in the New Year.

    Thurles, Nenagh, Carrick-on-Suir and Ballina-Killaloe reached agreement yesterday to pool their resources at adult level

    Rugby Europe has suspended all games under its remit until the end of November and as winner of rugby europe championship was to join Ireland, Scotland and Italy in the world cup qualifiers these games may not now go ahead


    And world rugby have confirmed world cup qualification process
    World Rugby, and hosts New Zealand Rugby (NZR), have today announced the Rugby World Cup 2021 Draw will take place in Auckland on Friday, 20 November, 2020.

    SkyCity Theatre in the heart of Auckland’s central business district will be the location for the draw which will be streamed live for rugby fans worldwide via World Rugby’s digital channels.

    Hosted in the southern hemisphere for the first time in a golden year for women’s rugby, the ninth edition of the showcase tournament will take place from 18 September-16 October 2021 across three match venues. It will be contested by 12 teams, of which nine are already confirmed.

    Seven teams qualified directly for RWC 2021 courtesy of a top-seven finish at the last tournament in Ireland in 2017, defending champions New Zealand, runners-up England, bronze medallists France, USA, Canada, Australia and Wales.

    Fiji and South Africa confirmed their places through the regional qualification process back in 2019, via the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup and Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship.

    The remaining three places will be filled by a qualifier from Asia and Europe together with the winner of the Final Qualification Tournament, a first for a women’s Rugby World Cup, offering a second opportunity for teams to qualify.

    can anyone with better knowledge of women's rugby explain to me why we have such problems in the out half position?

    i just checked the womens squad on the IRFU site and we only have Claire Keohnane listed as a out half.
    Ive gone through all the women with blanked positions, and none are out halves.

    Obviously Hannah Tyrrell is more of a winger, yet shes starting at 10 tomorrow.

    as a nation where a lot of the girls have a gaelic footballing background, its quite strange that we've had such a problem at 10.
    The last real fixed 10 we've had was nora stapleton who finished 3 years ago.

    Keohane started against wales and england, but murphy, a scrum half, played there against scotland.

    have we a injury problem of crisis proportions here??

    Not sure why. No injury crisis from what im aware of. You see it at club level as well.

    I thought they were looking to reschedule it at a later date rather than sharing the points? (That's what RTE are reporting anyway)

    England can't be caught at the top of the table, and there's no prize money (which is absolutely ridiculous when there's £16million for the men's but that's another story!) so it could be rescheduled; pending the availability of the teams that is!

    I thought they were originally but its off now. No prize money is a pity but relatively poor ticket income, not much tv money means prize money wouldnt be high for now anyway.
