    Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip to Kenya for the month of Jan. I just wanted to
find out if there was anyone else serious about going. I have talked to a
few people about going and I thought that maybe I would end up going on
my own. But I bumped into Tom Carey and Rosemary Ryan this weekend and
they're both definitely going to go as well. So, there are probably
other people planning the trip who I don't know about, or who would
consider going if they knew that other Irish athletes were definitely going.
So, I just wanted to put the word out so that we could get as many
people going as possible. Christmas is right around the corner so if you
are serious about going, we need to move on it asap. I talked to Charles
Kimutai -- the Kenyan who won Loughrea. He is based in Iten (near St
Patrick's High School, where Bro Colm O' Connell is teaching). He told
me that accomodation is easy to find and v cheap -- he trains with 5/6
other guys and they all rent a house amongst themselves for the
equivalent of 100 U.S dollars for 3 months -- not quite Dublin prices!! The
plan would be to fly into Eldoret and bus to Iten (25 kms away) from
there. I'm going to book my flight within the next 24 hours -- Dublin to
London, London to Nairobi, Nairobi to Eldoret. I will try to get a contact
number for Bro Colm in the next few days so we can get more info but
the most important thing for me right now is to book the flight.

Hope to hear from you soon,

    Conor.
