Does anyone have any idea when the draw/fixtures are announced for the inter county season next year?
from the paper a few days back
Duffy confirmed the All-Ireland SHC final will take place on August 19 next year. The football decider is likely to happen on September 2 as Croke Park is set to accommodate part of Pope Francis’ visit to Ireland next year on the weekend of August 26.

The Allianz Leagues are in line to finish by the first weekend in April with the championship commencing at the start of May.

The new hurling structure will mean there will be only a live televised football championship draw on RTÉ on October 19. The master fixtures calendar for 2018 is set to be released at the end of November. The provinces will decide the draw for the round-robin games — each team will have one break weekend.
its about all there is at the moment .

Erins Own are just after beating Kilmurry in the junior football championship, big surprise there as Kilmurry are going very well in the under 21 championship. Down to 3 teams now, Kilmacabea, erins own and Knocknagree

Does anyone know about disabled access to pairc ui chaoimh? I want to bring my grandad to the match tomorrow but he can't walk for so want to know if I'll be able to drive him close to the grounds and if there's seats without stairs to walk up

    Hey Mok!

They have parking spaces reserved which are right on the stadium for disabled access alright.

And I have seen they have seats specifically assigned for disabled specatators also.

I'd recommend arriving early and speaking to a steward

    Enjoy the game!!

senior hurling semifinal replay, Imokilly 4-17 Sarsfields 4-10. Harnedy with 2-3 or so. Blackrock into the Munster championship regardless of final result

I think everyone knew the past week it was him. Damage limitation him putting it out the night before it goes in the papers. Man craves publicity. Should be ashamed of himself.

Mallow 1-17 St Michaels 1-16 in a thrilling game.

Left at HT of the senior with Nemo 6 up and toying with the Barrs but great credit to the Barrs to force a replay, 0-14 apiece

Mallow won the intermediate beating st. Michael's 1-17 v 1-16 in a cracker.

    Nemo v Barrs a draw 0-14 a piece.

Nemo were 0-08 v 0-00 up after 17 mins so they will be gutted not to have won from that position. But the story of the game was the way the Barrs came back. Burns at full back, their midfield domination but in particular Maguire. He was nothing short of majestic. His finest display in a Barrs jersey surely. He ran at that Nemo defence at Every opportunity. Sherlock kicked some great scores and they definitely got their just rewards with their midfield domination.

Going to finals next Sunday. Where is the best place to park, coming from the north side

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,019 ✭✭✭zetecescort

if you don't mind a walk park in any of the city centre car parks. if your there early to see the football what I usually do is park above at Pairc Ui Rinn and walk down. will probably need to be right early though next week

What are peoples predictions for the games this weekend?

    Barrs v Nemo
    &
    Blackrock v Imokilly

  • Registered Users Posts: 920 ✭✭✭Ron Burgundy II

    Mine;

Haven't seen any football games this year so can't really comment on that final.

But it has to be Imokilly for the hurling. I've seen them play against Erins Own and Sars and the forward line of Harnedy and O'Sullivan is something else. I don't see Blackrock being able to handle them.

I fancy Nemo, was surprised they didn't see it out at the weekend.
I fancied imokily all year. But I'm from blackrock. Blackrock will seriously put it up to them physically. They basically beat up na piarsiag who were really in form in the semis. I think Will Leahy will be missing too for the aghada game but not sure, if so he will be a big miss.
Can see paudie sull getting squeezed out of it and harnedy coming in for some serious treatment.
The imokilly backline is not great tbh,I can see them being out fought a lot, and they leak a lot of goals even with Dalton in there.
A lot will come down to who wins the physical battle, I can see it being pretty low scoring with big battles between the 45's. The ref will have a big say too.
Imokilly are certainly favorites, but there's a lot of hunger in blackrock to win this and a good few of them lads just lost the prem intermediate football at the weekend and that will drive them on even more.
I'm putting my money on the Rockies anyway....

Cant see Rockies defense holding Imokilly. It going to be like a funeral like atmosphere if the divisional side win.

Nemo, should be a close affair again
Imokilly, really think they could steamroll Rockies here

I fully expect the Barrs to win the replay. Their midfield were totally on top throughout and they won't go 8 or 9 points behind.

I doubt if imokily will lose either, they really are bang in form.

Meyler as Senior Coach, no backroom team announced as of yet. A good backroom team here that the team are in favour of will be crucial to how Cork fare next year.
