Ah, so you and the other user, "Effects" are engaging in Sealioning. You want to send me off on an internet odyssey to retrieve information that you already know exists. When I come back with these facts, you will just ignore them and move the goalposts again, and ask for more stats.

Can you please provide me with the facts that prove that asylum seekers and economic migrants do not leap frog the indigenous population on housing lists. I'll wait.

You need to calm down , I'm not trying to wind you up.

I haven't made that claim. Why do I need to show proof for something I haven't expressed as either fact or opinion. Sounds like you're just digging a bigger hole for yourself while trying to throw muck at other people.

Perhaps you could report some racist black lads who nearly murdered an innocent white kid, if you're not too busy like.

    When did that happen?

When you see the reaction from most of the country when you even try and discuss the level of immigration we have from Africa, you can start to understand why we've been at England's mercy for most of our history.

There really is not even a 1% of self preservation left in our society.

    Excuse me?

The mother of the victim has identified 4 alleged attackers. Two are black and two are white. The comment I responded to suggested it was a racist attack by blacks on a white kid. So it's either a different case or he's full of ****.

Calm down and read the facts.

Excuse you? No I dont think I shall. Your passive aggressiveness washes over me completely.
You know full well that there are more than 4 involved. If you dont, then you should.
But what my comment was in reference to, and you full well know, is that smart alek reply you made to givyjoe....

I didnt happen eh?? I mean, as per your response to givyjoe...
Should be totally ashamed of yourself

This country needs more prisons, tougher sentences, electronic GPS monitoring if convicted scum bags to quickly tie them to incidents like this, and a general “scumbags are not welcome on our streets” attitude. For far too long, being a violent scumbag has resulted in almost nonexistent consequences until those wcunbas “graduate“ to organized crime and murder. It has to change. Every individual involved in this attack should be looking at a jail sentence lasting for something in the vicinity of a decade of their lives.

I take it that 100s if not 1000s of these asbos have been issued in the last few years!?

So we should do the same with all parents - if junior acts up you're going to jail?

There should be some sort of punishment

Withhold child benefit. Move them down the housing list. The problem is any punishment punishes the poor more.

But something should be done, it's a parents responsibility to make sure their child isn't acting like a scumbag and causing harm.

I don’t think so, I’ve never heard of someone in Dublin use yore ma in place of “monkey”, or any other similarly disgusting slur.

So what have you heard used instead of monkey? Seeing as you asked that very question of a poster on the previous page of the thread.

The mother of the young lad that got attacked just posted this on her Facebook, apparently some of the scum that attacked her son are in this video.

K32 is the eircode for Balbriggan, maybe the Ashbourne attackers came from there after all, since there's a direct bus.

Also, I've had to power wash my ears after that.

    https://www.irishrefugeecouncil.ie/news/joint-statement-regional-support-organisations-welcome-official-launch-by-minister-stanton-of-community-sponsorship/7002

    quote

'The supports include meeting people at the airport; providing a warm welcome and cultural orientation; providing housing; furniture; supporting access to medical and social services; English language tuition; and support towards employment and self-sufficiency. Such initiatives not only provide a real future for the refugees themselves but also have proven to bring communities closer together'

They do not languish on housing lists, they go directly into housing.

I don't think the bit in bold is working.

My worry is we are headed for a place like Sweden is in....i.e trouble.

It's a numbers game (unless you believe we are somehow attracting a higher calibre of aylsum seeker/migrant). If someone can tell me what we are doing better that avoids the trouble that every other western country on the continent is experiencing i'd love to hear it.

My main concern, and I have said it over and over in relation to Irish scumbaggery, is that we don't have a proper functioning police force or a justice system. Other countries do and they are struggling to cope. It does not get better from here if you look at the experience on the continent.

I don't believe for a second this country could cope.

Going on other European experience especially Paris and many many other cities I think we have problems coming very soon and this thread is pretty sad really because it is only the start and there won't be an end.

Maybe i'm totally wrong and I hope I am but I don't think so...

The Irish people have a history for sorting things out despite the governing authority. The current justice system will be forced to up its game or it will be replaced. The justice system replacing it won,t be mindless vigilantism either
Edit with the current commitment to europe a continental style criminal justice system based on the code napolean would have merit, especialy a judge directing the investigation of serious crime

The attack by mobility scooter guy at the end is sad but quite funny at the same time.
Probably some old guy who was born and raised in Rinkby, and has seen his town destroyed over the years.
Pushed to the point where he just does not care about the consequences any more.

I don't blame the asylum seekers here at all.

I blame the same old bunch of Middle Class "Socialists" that have invited asylum seekers into the country only to throw them into ghettos without proper supports and throw a few shiny pennies at them.

Then these self same "Socialists" give themselves a great big clap on the back for doing something that makes them "feel good".

Proper integration would require a proper redistribution of asylum seekers into middle class suburbs to live beside the middle classes, go to school with the middle class kids and socialise with them.

That would actually water the seeds of ambition amongst asylum seekers, let them feel less resentment towards the society that has invited them into their country and foster integration.

If anything, Asylum Seekers have been sold a pup by Middle Class "Socialists" so that the latter can pontificate to others about how virtuous they are.

Name one thing we've sorted out.

We live in the most consequence free country on the planet.

    I do blame the immigrants.
It may be the socialists inviting them to the country but the crimes and violence is done by the immigrants, not the socialists.

I had to look into the authenticity of the video just in case it was clickbait.
It was indeed 60 Minutes (the Australian version), which is Australia's leading current affairs program on television.
The reporter on the footage stated that there were 55 declared no-go zones inSweden, and that footage was from way back in early 2016. The Australian crew were later accused of working with anti-refugee groups, which is something we see here ............ i.e. if you ask questions about the not-so-rosy reality of non-EU economic migration, then you are deemed alt-right, a Nazi, a racist etc.

That footage should be an eye-opener for policy makers here, but as was pointed out before, the Irish government believe that we will not make the same mistakes as other resource-rich countries like Sweden and Germany. We will somehow get it right ..... even though our existing housing/hospital/social welfare/mental health/childcare services are already stretched to breaking point.

Policy makers? there is not a single person in the civil service who is tasked to ponder these questions, i guarantee it. they may react once it's far too late but there is certainly no planning or forward thinking in this area.

The Gardai seem quite aware that issues such as this are being used as a wedge by extremists to stir up racial hatred - and we can't pretend not to know where that leads for some individuals, whether slightly unhinged or not.

"Gardaí responsible for monitoring several websites and online personalities with a history of spreading racism and inciting hatred among Irish web users have noted a recent increase in activity.

Many of the websites are based in the US making combating them difficult due to strong freedom of speech protections in that country, said Insp David McInerney of the Garda Racial, Intercultural and Diversity Office (Grido).

Others frequently change their names and IP addresses, making monitoring much more difficult.

“There are certain groups out there who like to stir up racial hatred and we have to be watching that all the time,” he said.

“These are certain individuals who come up time and time again. We know people who are at this all the time. They move on, they change the name of the site and then they start again.

“They’re inciting hatred, just trying to get people’s back up all the time,” Insp McInerney said, following a spate of online racial abuse directed at the Black-Irish community in response to reports of anti-social behaviour by groups of black youths in west Dublin and Meath.
