If you're thinking about volunteering abroad this could be very useful to you tomorrow:
    Irish Aid Volunteering Fair
This year’s Irish Aid Volunteering Fair will take place at the Printworks in Dublin Castle, from 11.00am – 5.00pm on Saturday 01 October 2016.

35 volunteer sending agencies and other organisations will have stands to showcase their overseas projects and answer your questions about the realities of volunteering and development work.

There will be interactive and participatory workshops, a panel discussion and a number of experienced staff and returned volunteers to talk you through your volunteering options.
If you can't make that you might be interested in a general look at volunteering to help development Here

It's a good idea to get as much information as you can before you go and ensure you are doing the volunteer work you want to and for a beneficial, effective purpose. comhlamh has a useful website to read in that respect.

    Irish Aid
    Irish Aid Volunteering Fair 2018

Irish Aid Volunteering Fair 2018 will be held in Hibernia Conference Centre, Dublin Castle on Saturday 29th September 2018 from 11am - 5pm.

Thinking of volunteering abroad, or just curious about Ireland’s role in international development?

Every year, the Irish Aid Volunteering Fair gives you a unique opportunity to meet and chat face-to-face with the main organisations in Ireland that offer overseas volunteering placements. It’s a chance to discover the many opportunities out there and pick up advice and tips from experienced overseas volunteers. It can be the start of a hugely rewarding journey!

    EU Aid volunteers
    UN volunteers
You can also do online volunteering so you don't have to go abroad to help with the efforts.

There's also the European Voluntary Service Programme, an EU funded scheme that pays you an allowance (not loads, but something) while you volunteer. Great for those taking a year out to decide what to do in college etc..
