Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

That club on GUI website does no longer have a licence to play on the CITYWEST hotel property. There is a new club up there under name CITYWEST resort golf club. Awaiting affiliation.0

"citywest golf club" is no longer in operation. its administrative structure has also been kicked to the kerb in the sense that the new club is now run totally by members.
the new club, "citywest resort golf club", is now under the control of members voted in at a recent agm. its application for GUI affliation has been submitted and is due for approval, from what im told, in the immediate future. it is, im told, a formality.
for those of us who have been members of citywest for years and have had to endure the workings of the individual named above... this new arrangement is very welcome news indeed.0 -

Golf membership rates around Dublin continue to be expensive, despite the recession – but for how long?
To get an indication of how much we are out of step, I’ve just done a comparison of average 7 Day prices near Dublin against those within reach of Belfast (using rates in this thread and http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056568076).
With so many clubs competing for declining numbers of golfers, seems that the golf membership market, like the housing market, hasn’t bottomed out quite yet:

Maldron don't actually own any of the hotels that they operate from. They merely lease the buildings and the associated rights to run a hotel in them. Most of the Clarions in the country run on the same basis.
The only change from the buildings going into Nama is that Maldron pay their rent to somebody else.0 -

Dublin Mountain are starting a deal from May 1st €299 + 50 for Gui and Insurance/comm fees... think there is an early option too, i.e. if you want to join this month, so thats less than €1400 for 4 people for full 7day membership !
