The €9 striploins are 8oz as opposed to the 10oz for €11.99. Great steak though.

I mean, if you are cooking for her (generalising I know), surely you would put a bit of effort into making something really nice? All the valentines ads from dunnes/aldi etc. are pushing it.

They did have 5 steaks in a pack. But now its down to 4. It still says minimum 1kg per pack though.

I used to swear by Aldi striploins until I discovered Tesco 4 x Striploins for €12.. sometimes can get them for €10 reduced - nicest steaks I have had in a long time.

For something different, free range ostrich steaks in ALDI this weekend... €6.99 for 2x150g.

Also, two very nice looking (marbled) beef medallions for 4 euros.

ALDI from Thursday 27th April have 25 day matured 300g flat iron steak for €4.
LIDL running Wednesday - Friday have a Hereford 300g flat iron steak for €3.

Worth a punt? Have never had that cut of steak before, ALDI have a recipe which suggests it's one to braise then casserole\slow cook rather than just fry quickly?

I use those at times in Asian stir fry's
Slice it as thin as possible, put them in cornflour (that will keep the meat juicy) and stir fry them for a minute or so.
