Brave of her to run away like that, hope she is caught and made an example of , remember the media was cheering all this on when it was the "right" people to attack, these people are emboldened by them

I hope whatever arts and crafts course she is doing chuck her out

I'd be no fan of Leo at all, but that is a lowlife thing to do to anyone and I hope she's identified and prosecuted

Hold on, isn’t this hilarious?? People on here though so when it was Farage etc.

Happened to Rowan Croft too but nobody cared because he's a "fascist".

Regardless of your politics, throwing liquids at someone and running away is a scummy thing to do. Hope she gets caught.

    My shock.

True. Look at this video of Michael Noonan getting a custard pie in the face during the 2002 election campaign.

There was no pearl-clutching, no talk of it being an assault. The man himself laughed it off and the papers published their usual mildly amusing oh-so-wry accounts of the event the next day.

Remind me who the real 'snowflakes' are?

I doubt she thinks he'll change, that's pretty evidently not possible. She just wanted to do it and it probably made her feel good. If we were all a bit more assertive maybe politicians would think twice about fucking us over day in day out.

Yeah, I'm sure Leo is at home now sitting in his kitchen thinking about how he can make her life better because she was so assertive

Yeah, it should have been called out then but those people got charged too.

If I remember correctly, it was a heavily pregnant socialist activist.

Nobody called these incidents "assault" back then though.

You can all simmer , there's a Garda investigation underway.

They're on the case a lot quicker than when the woman was walloped over the head and left pumping a few days ago, in their presence.

If your gonna throw something on someone why would you do it while other people were around and you’d more chance of being caught, that would be idiotic.

It may show you stand behind your convictions.

Don’t be a c*nt to someone is a good philosophy in life.

If you do it for pathetic, attention seeking purposes- you get extra points on the c*nt scale.

If you have a skateboard, on top of the above, you should probably be put down

You want a prison sentence for someone throwing coffee on someone else. What if someone threw coffee over you, do you think they’d go to prison.

It’s not about the individual, it’s about the office that person holds. That milkshake is an affront to the nation,

If it was coffee or urine, then yes I would, and I've known of sentences handed down for far tamer assaults.
Why, would you not seek action against someone who'd thrown a hot or noxious substance on you?

The non fatal offences against the person act gives plenty of scope for such a charge.
2.—(1) A person shall be guilty of the offence of assault who, without lawful excuse, intentionally or recklessly—

    (a) directly or indirectly applies force to or causes an impact on the body of another, or

    (b) causes another to believe on reasonable grounds that he or she is likely immediately to be subjected to any such force or impact,

without the consent of the other.

    (2) In subsection (1) (a), “force” includes—

    (a) application of heat, light, electric current, noise or any other form of energy, and

    (b) application of matter in solid liquid or gaseous form.

    (3) No such offence is committed if the force or impact, not being intended or likely to cause injury, is in the circumstances such as is generally acceptable in the ordinary conduct of daily life and the defendant does not know or believe that it is in fact unacceptable to the other person.

    (4) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both

And assault causing harm, which can be psychological harm can carry a sentence of up to 5yrs.
The assailant in this instance, attacked and ran.
I'd actually have a bit of respect for her if she had done it and made a statement or unfurled a banner.

I agree. It’s a cünty thing to do. But imagine the guffawing and absolute banter this thread would turn into if say Donald Trump or Borris got milkshaked. Just the usual double standard nonsense.

Suddenly people care about people being milkshaked because they like the person.

    My shock.

My exact thoughts. This shouldn't happen, neither should throwing milkshakes, but the hypocrisy of those who supported throwing milkshakes at others will quickly be on display. It's very simple, if you don't support civility, then there's no place for you in a democratic system.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

Eh, she didn't do anything to justify an assault. And I also don't have any time for the person who did that to Leo. But you're actively trying to downplay a violent assault because it was done by far right nutters.
