Any idea where I’d get a few pairs in size 11?

Are you sure? The Kinvara 3 was from 2012.

I know, should have got a rake of them at the time!

I emailed them years ago to ask why they used the name Kinvara and was there a connection to the town in Galway, they emailed me back to say it was the name of a castle in Ireland but no explanation for the choice, I assume they mean Dun Guaire which is in Kinvara:

They had a Kilkenny shoe too. I always presumed they had an Irish connection.

Best of luck searching for 3s !

pretty much no chance of finding that model now.

take a chance on a newer model of the same shoe? - it has stayed true enough to the original concept.

When they change a model year they typically sell off the older ones at a reduced price and they sell out relatively quickly

You might be able to find it a year later but even 2 years later is tricky

You can save some money searching for a model 1 or max 2 numbers back online and you might get lucky, more so if you have a weird size (really large or small - 11 could turn up something actually)

you can try going through the results here to see if you get something in your size

Not sure if an 8-year-old shoe will have kept all of its original properties, maybe if they've been locked away in a temperature-controlled dark room, but would still expect some loss.

the whole "do running shoes have a shelf life" is a completely different discussion and not one to get into really here (personally I would think that at most it's very minimal and depends on what cushioning materials are in question which vary from shoe to shoe, no actual real hard study data yada yada yada...) as the OP is not going to find this 2012 model for sale online in any case.
