I have a couple of questions about the NUI Maynooth intervarsity --

A: Is it going to be everyone shooting together or a split shoot, i.e one group shoots 30, then the other shoots 30, then the first shoots another 30 etc etc etc

B: Who is going to be judging the competition?

C: Whats the limit on number of entires per university?

    Thanks

    Ewan

Sorry i thought i had already put that info up here, must have just emailed it, anyways:

    In Short:
    1) Yes two groups, see below for more details
    2) Well try and get Tony, but if not i'll get someone
    3) It will probably be 10-12 per college, but what i need is for all colleges to tell me how many people they WANT to bring, ASAP

We are going to do the two groups thing for our intervarsity.
I know some people don't like the delay, but if we only have 1 group then
everyone will be limited to 5 archers per college. With the two groups we
can have up to 80 or so archers. Also it takes some of the pressure off
arriving on time from the Galway, Limerick teams.

Galway - Maynooth is now a 3:30+hr journey, and 4:30hrs from Galway to
    Dublin.

Also only the first group have the delay:
So for competitions in Dublin, Dublin area teams have 1:30hr delay, but
then again they don't have to spend 4hrs travelling.
And for competitions in Galway and Limerick, Dublin teams won't have the
delay but will have to spend the time travelling.

    So:
    Group1: Maynooth, UCD, DCU, DIT
    Group2: GMIT, NUIG, UL, Carlow

    Group 1 TimeTable:
    10:30 - Group 1 arrives
    11:00 - Group 1 starts shooting first 30 arrows
    12:15 - Group 1 go for lunch
    14:00 - Group 1 starts shooting second 30 arrows
    15:15 - Group 1 finish - second lunch?
    17:00 - Hot Shot
    17:15 - Prizes

    Group 2 TimeTable:
    12:00 - Group 2 arrives
    12:30 - Group 2 starts shooting first 30 arrows
    13:45 - Group 2 go for lunch
    15:30 - Group 2 starts shooting second 30 arrows
    17:00 - Hot Shot
    17:15 - Prizes

So, what i need from everyone, and quickly, is your numbers and numbers of
    beginners and advanced archers.

    On Advanced Archers:
For those few of ye that haven't been paying attention to the discussion on
    the Archery Forum on www.boards.ie.
What has been generally been decided is that instead of having the
advanced/beginner distinction based on how long ago you started archer, it
    will be based on ability.

When an archer scores 400+ on the 60cm targets at an intervarsity then they
become and advanced archer and from there on they shoot on 40cm targets
    (barebow is always an option).

I've list of all archers from all the clubs that have shot at the
intervarsities over the last two years and whether they are advanced or
    beginner.
    http://www.ucd.ie/archery/results/adv-beg.html

Entry fee has yet to be decided. either 5 or 7 euro per archer.

If there are any questions or problems, then just email or call me or
    Vicky.

P.S: UCD and DCU have both book their intervarsities for the 21st Feb. when
they sort it out amoung themselves i'll let ye know.
Also DIT are looking at 28th Feb for their intervarsity which would be held
at one of the other colleges halls.

    ok people,
i want, by the end of this week:
confirmation that ye are coming or not,
and at least rough numbers of how many
    beginners/advanced ye are bringing.
