FWIW we're just after RWC and season only beginning to gain any momentum, so 14,000 + attendance isn't too bad. Think Champions Cup will ramp up the interest and I expect PRo 14 attendances to improve for all the teams after first 2 rounds of European games. Anyone know what last season's corresponding game attracted?

Cummisky reporting that Harry Byrne may be making his way to Limerick on a short term loan whilst Carbery / JJ are out.

It is only redundant if you don’t want to admit that a stadium nearly half empty isn’t a good thing. Next to playing in Europe interprovincial matches should be filling grounds to more than 56%.

I’ve raised the subject before and people have tried to brush it off by claiming “river festivals” and “communions” have an impact.

Always a bit bewildered when this gets brought up. You're criticising the attendance at what was the highest attended Pro 14 game so far this season.

To use your own metric, for last season's Pro 14 games, Munster had 75% capacity. Leinster had 78%.

In any case, to the match itself; thought it was pretty low quality fare from both sides with Munster lucky enough in the end to get out with the win. I do think this is a bit premature tho:

Starting to wonder if this coaching ticket has improved the team at all?!

The lads from the Irish setup are only just being introduced back in and Rowntree has only just arrived.

This plus our back play has been blatantly obviously better than last season up to Saturday. The internationals coming back is unsurprisingly going to screw that up until they're up to speed with the new systems. No judgement can (or should) be made on the new coaching team until the internationals have had a few months to bed into these systems. The world cup was always going to hamstring us when there's so much change.

I think we've already seen some progress, but agree with Cookiemunster that the returnees were going to have to have time to bed in. Alby mentioned in a press conference that they've been working on this game plan since pre-season, which internationals haven't had.

But the break that JJ made (in which he got injured), the chance in the 22 that Haley (?) knocked on, and perhaps even Conway's try were more inventive passages of play and setplays than we had seen in recent seasons.

    🤪

It was a real curates egg of a game, too may errors from both sides. To be fair there was a thunder shower before kick off so the field must have been extra slippy, too many players slipped as they were about to be tackled and on a few occasions the defending team got a penalty from the resulting ruck.

Crazy to think we coughed up a BP win but were lucky to win the game too.

It was 100% correct decision to go for the points to try make a two score game of it when Tyler opted for the kick at goal.

Having only two backs on the bench could have cost us with JJ having to leave the field so early, looked like a late hit to me at the time and I haven't seen it on TV yet.

It felt like a match between two teams who will win nothing again this year.

Munster won. The only stat that will matter ultimately.

If both team played an excellent game on Saturday night then the same might well be true, neither are good enough in knockout rugby to beat Leinster in the Pro14 and the top 2 or 3 clubs in the Heineken Cup.

Exactly this. First match with the internationals back, 2nd game for Rowntree and the usual suspects are out with the low attendance posts for the biggest crowd of the Pro14 season. It must be nearly Champions Cup time.

How dare you use facts, that doesn’t fit the narrative that munster are badly supported and in the decline.

Apparently higher than any attendance in the English Premiership too this weekend.

Makes you wonder about some people.

    13097 was the official figure.
