Who do you think would make a good Doctor Who?

    Top 3

    1) Bill Nighy
    2) Hugh Laurie
    3) Benedict Cumberbatch

    Martin Freeman.
    Michael Gambon.
    Terry Wogan*

*may not be a 'serious' answer, but it would be funny!

First two would be excellent. Can't imagine Cumberbatch in the role. I'd lean toward Nighy, but would like to see Laurie's take on him.

Didn't bill nighy already turn it down? I really don't think fans of Dr who and Sherlock would like to see the same actor play the lead role in both. Would be very odd.

    Hugh Laurie would be good

    Robert Carlyle
    Simon Pegg
    Charles Dance

I would hate to see Cumberbatch as the Doctor. He's already starring in a show where he's practically the Doctor, doesn't need another one.

Laurie would be interesting, I love his work so I'd be interested to see what he could do in the role.

Throwing it out there, Robert Carlyle.

Benedict might make a good Valeyard.

I'd also consider Peter Dinklage, Pierce Brosnan

    Childish Gambino.
    Emma Watson.
Martin Freeman, I guess, but perhaps we would just get the usual Martin Freeman performance.

Hugh Laurie would be a good one!
I'd be interested in seeing what someone like Eddie Redmayne would do as the Doctor...

    Peter Dinklage.

I was a Doctor so I'd like to see Withnail as the Doctor.

    Richard E. Grant.

I know I said before when it was suggested it would be a woman, but Hayley Atwell would be great in the role

Atwell would be a good choice, IIRC she already turned down the role, I think she's still based stateside aside from everything else ...

I was saying Tilda Swinton, before a female Doctor was a thing.
