I'm just wondering for the Undergrad degree as a mature student, can you use the TEG exams for Irish instead of needing Honours Irish? I did Ordinary irish in my LC in 2007. Thanks a million!

Hi there.

For the PME, you need the LC grade, and the TEG, which is oral only for entry to the PME.

If you're going down the BEd route, you would need to talk to the university where you plan to study, because while overall points will usually determine getting into a course, there maybe prerequisites for mature CAO entry (like needing an honours grade etc.) that would make things more challenging for you.

Would you resit your Irish? There are lots of people doing grinds and sitting the leaving cert, it might be worthwhile?
