Maybe minimum prices are to be encouraged so we can get some proper speakeasies going.

Why the hell would any party suggest thus in the run up to an election?? At least publicans would be happy. Cant see this going ahead, especially as exchequer doesn't gain

Political grandstanding and also a bit of an olive branch to Roisin Shortall/Social Democrats as they'll probably need their 5 or 6 seats to form another government.

    It won't happen.

Bottle of Baron St Jean is currently €3.99 in Aldi Ireland and £2.99 in Aldi Norn Iron. If they insist opinion bringing in this legislation....... It will still be £2.99 in Newry. This only an example. Stupid.

Dunnes Stores have any offers on spirits this year? Can recall getting a litre of Paddy last year cheaper than a 70cl bottle on the same shelf.

Except there is no Aldi store in Northern Ireland! :p

I get the gist of what you're saying though. However, was it not mooted that NI would also have this price fixing thing, or am I way off the mark?

Can anyone confirm deal in Aldi starting today. What's the pricing?

I love the way in Aldi the Serrano ham is over 18s only. Imagine some young skanger standing outside, trackies tucked into his socks, asking people on the way in if they'll buy the ham for him.:D
