I was just coming in here to post the same, it is such a fantastic service! I don't think I'd have read half as many books this year without it. If I have nothing to read I just need to browse on my phone and pick something I like the look of.

What do you need to do to loan books from a public library in Ireland?

To get a library card you need to bring photo ID and a proof of address to the library and they'll give you a card and activate it for you. Make sure you also get them to set up a PIN for you if you want to use the BorrowBox app as you'll need that to log in with.

You can also order physical books online to be reserved or sent from another library to your local one for you (also need your PIN for this) - I have done this many times, it's a great service and usually only takes a few days.

And while you're at it, ask them if they have an "Open Library" facility and if they can set your card to allow you access.

You can download free audiobooks and ebooks with your Irish public library card using Borrowbox, you just need your account up to date.

Will I be able to download books from borrowbox to my phone and then send to a kobo Clara reader? You download an asmx file open with Adobe digital editions on phone? If then copy the epub onto kobo, will I be able to read or does it have to be read on phone where it was downloaded?

I've just published a book which is now available to download FREE from:

    Amazon

    https://amzn.to/3pWfFCu

    Barnes & Noble

    https://bit.ly/3DZbv1x

    Smashwords

    https://bit.ly/3mc8pBh

(Hard copies will be available in the new year)

The book is available on a give what you want basis, in accordance with the Buddhist practice of Dāna, which is the practice of giving, often in the context of donation and charity. Buddhist monks are not meant to charge money for Buddhist teachings, since they themselves received them for free and since the truths of spiritual practice cannot be owned by anyone. While I am not a Buddhist monk, nor a teacher, much of what I have written about comes from my experience with Buddhist philosophy and practice. I am also hopeful that what I have written will be of some help to someone, somewhere and so I don't want money to be a barrier.

If, after reading the book, you feel that it was a worthwhile read and that you got some value from it, you are welcome to make a contribution to the author (that's me :-) ). You can do so by visiting the following website:

Where you can donate through PayPal.

PoetryinTranslation.com has some great stuff but i only noticed lately these done a complete new verse translation of Orlando Furioso, formatted with over 600 Gustave Doré illustrations! Thats the very old epic poem by Ariosto, with knights, monsters, battles, and lots of sex, its the Game of Thrones of its day ;) .

    https://www.poetryintranslation.com/PITBR/Italian/Ariostohome.php

Completely free as pdf, but i should mention if you buy a hardcopy (which i did) its printed in A4! :lol actual a4 size and about 2 inches thick... i mean very easy to read clarity-wise, not so much maneuverability-wise :P .
