Would anyone know of or indeed recommend overnight accommodation near the Coombe hospital? Would have to be within 5 minutes walking distance or very close to a bus route. Details of B&B or small hotel with reasonable rates would be welcomed TIA :)

You might find a B&B that end of the SCR (just around the corner), or there's a few new hotels in the area, the Maldon, the Hyatt Centric. They may be 10 minutes away. I could do more research but am in pub.

The hotels are all 150+pn, theres nothing really out towards rialto or crumlin direction either. Best bet would be an airbnb, plenty of apts on cork st listed that would be within 5mins

Most, if not all the B&Bs which were on SCR are just rented out now as bedsit type rooms.

Probably expensive around D8 for hotels so you may be better off looking out towards Tallaght. 27/77a bus door to door. Will take about 45 mins or a lot longer if it's peak times.

AirBNB probably the handiest should, should be some on Cork St, Kilmainham, the Liberites, etc...

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a daughter in the Coombe with a new born baby and she may have to stay in Dublin for a few days. She wont be able to walk far or jump on/off buses etc as she's only after an op herself and is getting discharged possibly tomorrow hence the need for somewhere to stay close to the hospital where the baby has to remain for a number of days.

She has since had an offer from a "friend of a friend's" family who have kindly said that they will put her up and drive her to the hospital etc but I'm not sure what part of Dublin they live in. I totally forgot about the Air BnB's which could well be the solution so I must have a rummage around now to see whats available.

    Thanks again for the replies.

The hospital may be able to point her in the direction of accommodation near by - they may have some arrangements with local facilities. There should be a social care professional that might be able to assist.

Thats great to know that, thanks. I'll be talking to her on the phone later and I'll tell her to talk to the nursing staff.
