I assume this'll just be an app on your smart tv, or Firestick, or whatever?

Yes. Good range of app availability on launch. App store, Apple TV, FireStick etc. Some newer 2019 model smart TVs

    Family deal + VPN perhaps...

Not sure you would need a VPN as it says 4 users can stream at one time and presume they do not expect all family members to live under one roof.

Not for that offer I don't think, just tried

You can for the monthly sub (€7) on Disney Life, which it says will become Disney +, so I'm hoping that continues

I meant sometimes you can get cheaper prices by VPN into a different country. Like for netflix I believe people VPN to argentina or turkey quite frequently to pay. This combined with the family deal could be an option. I don't know.

I'm open to joning a family if someone's willing to set it up.

How do these family deals work on boards.....?

Does one user set up and manage the account and then others setup a standing order to pay that user to be added as member?

Not cheaper via vpn but better content most likely. I was on US Disney Plus & they have the simpsons. This wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. I'd be more concerned if the 4k & HDR content wasn't on the Irish version.

Yeah pretty much, I have a family deal for spotify. me and my husband have been in the family deal for 3 years now with some lads we met on here. One guy set up a paypal and has that as the payment method, and the money comes out every month for the sub. But we just send him the money for the year up front and once a year we message to see if we are doing another year.

They are illegal or as illegal as VPNs. They are totally against the T&Cs. Netflix is trying to stop it and I assume disney will try too.

I have family Spotify. T&Cs say the you must all live in the same house. If I remember correctly they ask you to login to prove you are at that address. I assumed that us logging in on the same WiFi was the proof. Now I'm wondering do they just take your word for it? Or did a boards member set it all up in his/her own home before sending you the details?

The issue is if they all have the same login and can see each others profiles

It's 60 quid for a year. Jesus lads, its really not worth the hassle of not having the account yourself and having control of it.

What will you do with that extra 86.5c a week? :)

There's no porn on Netflix or disney so can't see this being a problem :)

Disney, like Netflix, has individual profiles. You can pick disney /star wars characters for your avitar

No we just all had to set our address to the same address, we have had the deal for 3 years though so maybe this came in after we set it up?

Ah OK. I was mistaken that it was my wifi that proved our address.
    Thanks for that

It's hard to say until it goes live. Disney have made an effort to pull back a lot of their content from rival platforms, but there may be some gaping holes until contracts with certain companies expire. I could be wrong, but I think the reason for the UK delay is due to their current contract with Sky for their movies. Sky currently have a "Disney" and "Star Wars" channel on their movies subscription, and regularly have "superhero" channels that often show lots of Marvel titles. These might all disappear once Disney+ launches.

Yes, I'd assume Ireland/UK content will be missing some shows for a year or two until their current contracts with other channels expire

You have people buying spaces on Spotify/Netflix family plans in BA, never underestimate the power of saving a tenner.

Spotify is 120 euro a year. The family saving is 90 euro a year.

I can't find a definitive list of all Disney+ Ireland programmes but here is what they had for the US launch
    https://entertainment.ie/tv/tv-news/disney-plus-launch-titles-library-410909/

When looking at Virgin's current tv package, I'm guessing they they will likely lose the following channels once their contract with Disney ends

    Disney Junior
    Disney Channel HD
