    Think you might be exaggerating there a bit, to be fair. I live in a "deprived" area and nobody is stuck for any 'essentials' (and i include modern 'essentials' like Games Consoles, internet, smart phones etc.)

    The only thing that generally turns these areas around is the kids growing up and moving away. Leaving their parents behind in the trouble estate, which lets it grow and mature a bit. The problem you have in many areas is the Council have a revolving door system and keep on putting younger families into houses in these areas, so you have a constant 'teen problem' in these places.


    As someone who has tried to engage the Gardai and Council over, and over, and over again, it's a complete uphill battle, and they show little to no interest in helping the decent residents of these areas.
