Is your sense of humour childish?

I've been watching Charlie Brooker's A Touch of Cloth recently (the title alone never fails to make me giggle). It's a police drama parody - a British Naked Gun/Police Squad - and it has caused much lolling. But not just the clever self referential stuff - the endless toilet and genitalia humour too.

And I have never seen so much comedy mileage harnessed from the bum-hole. I strongly approve.

I'm approaching middle age - do you, like me, still have a love for extremely childish humour?

I can laugh my ass off at both bottom ( rick mayall) and Seinfeld so yes and no

No, I don’t find toilet humour or sex jokes to be remotely funny.

My sense of humor is beyond childish. And luckily I can get away with all sorts of childish jokes, and toilet humor in work.

Not gonna lie, whenever the number 69 comes up, I laugh. It may be childish, but **** it, it keeps me happy.

Great show, coincidentally I reacquired it last week.

Yep. I laugh at almost anything. Farts included. One thing I don't find funny is those videos of people falling in awkward ways. Gives me a nervous twinge in my bladder for each impact! Other than that I'm easily amused.

The Unix text editor, vi, has a command to delete a full line. That command is "dd" or double-d. Every time I have to delete a line, I spontaneously emit an overtly juvenile giggle.

    'nuff said.

Me: Every time I asked for something your waiter just said 'Boobs'.

    Manager: Did he?

Those who say sarcasm is the lowest form of humour have never watched mrs browns boys.

I wouldn't be into toilet humour personally, preferring more refined humour, even dark and twisted stuff. Because I keep it in my head, my brother thinks I wouldn't appreciate anything edgy. If only he knew... :pac:

A friend of mine from school went on a family holiday when he was 16/17, and they brought along a friend of his younger brother. Whatever they witnessed, for the next few months, all I heard from any of them was the catchphrase "Funny wha'?!? Funny diddies!!!". :D

Probably not the best place to “enquire” about such things, OP. Generally, on this site, a large number of, male, users tend to complain and give out about any form of modern comedy.

Singling out the female comics for, particular, “criticism”. Any male ones that would be considered, any way, liberal, or “woke”, will also be a target for these, angry, men.

It should be noted that these, rabid, male users tend to have little to offer in the way of humour, themselves. They just seem to “get off” on angrily decrying the brave professionals who, publicly, put themselves forward with the sole aim of making people laugh.

Their proselytising has gotten fairly old, at this “stage” but it hasn’t stopped it from getting nastier. Sad really, but here we are.

    The tide is turning…

I have a fairly broad sense of humour, from cerebral personal material like Hannah Gadsby to someone raunchy like Amy Schumer.

You're dead right. Almost every time a chat comes up on the internet about people who aren't funny it's interpreted to mean "women who aren't funny" and it turns into a bitchfest against female comedians. If you dare say you don't like comedians such as Louis CK, Chris Delia, or any other privileged, straight white male sex pests you're derided for being uptight.

Yes, I love a Touch of Cloth too, even better because the 2 lads from Teachers were in it.
I love toilet humour, but equally love clever stuff like Frasier.

    Willy. :D

Don't go for the poop and farty stuff.

However, "willy" makes me giggle like an eight year old. Even typing it made me smile. :D

    Seinfeld is shit

It's not actually, It's clever stuff, especially when Larry David was involved.

He got even better with his own show Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I feel sorry for those who lose their childish sense of humour. Like life in general, getting too serious and only enjoying the "intelligent" comedy or becoming an "adult". Take Animaniacs for example (who are coming back, yurt!), they had some really inappropriate jokes which would be considered childish/toilet/inappropriate humour, but is still one of the best cartoons ever made. Always think of this when I think of Animaniacs, which went completely over my head as a child, and is thoroughly appreciated now:

In work it's all sex jokes and pure toilet humour with the lads on the floor, as for the people working in the office they are absolute bores and zero craic!

More “woke” sh1te, E? Do you ever take a break from this polluting threads with this muck?

Rocky’s wife thanking your post should be sufficient proof you got it wrong. Again.

Will you please “desist” from following me around, from thread to thread, like a beggar.

You’re like an annoying wasp that won’t go away, but your only “sting” is to go crying to teacher.

I’m not biting, R. Head back over to “Current Affairs” to spit out all your venom and hate, you seem to enjoy that.

Is it that difficult to understand?
